Has anyone said the 'term' of the P12 proposed media deal? Therein lies one of the biggest questions, because one year might see subscriptions rise, but as the product falls off due to whatever reasons (and there are plenty $$$, competition, limited CFP, etc), so will subscriptions. I'm hoping the Presidents/ADs understand they'll have to market the hell out of their teams to increase subscriptions. But, ok. That's their prerogative.
His phrasing is completely different then the other reports. I wonder if GK was the one that is pushing to meet again, hoping to get something better based on feedback?

Nobody should be shocked that it didn't go well or that there wasn't a conclusion and GK wants to meet again. If he had a good deal it would've already been presented and signed. I'm guessing Arizona is already planning on going. At this point nothing is changing.
It was a matter of footprint, not fans of the conference.
In states outside the Big Ten, they were getting pennies per subscriber. Inside the footprint, it jumped up to near a dollar and was on the basic tier -- no avoiding it by placing it in a separate Sports Pack.
So, once Rutgers was added to the footprint, the Big Ten got an extra 65-80 cents per cable subscriber per month. In NY/NJ, that's a huge number.
At best, the "deal" presented relies on some positive assumptions (all teams staying put and perhaps a list of approved additions). This is what the networks would offer given this set of circumstances. So not really a deal at all.

I’m honestly not sure what the doom and gloom is about. All GK did was put uncertain numbers in front of his presidents and begged for even more time.
His entire playbook is “stall stall stall”.

Which goes back to what we were saying in the lead up to Colorado leaving: if GK presented something that was even just “good enough,” this would be all over with and CU wouldn’t have left. Those tweets don’t indicate any significant change in favor of a good deal.
