Doubt that..CW is over the air. You can get it on your antenna.
A couple of thoughts:
1. Disney's CEO said linear TV is going the way of the dodo bird.
2. with the Hollywood writers and actors strike, live sports may be even more valuable to networks who will otherwise have to show reruns.
3. I could care less (actually hope we dont), about getting any of the PAC teams. Much rather have the ACC schools and am willing to wait until 2031 to get them.
4. When Washington and oregon go to the BIG, the 4 corners schools are going to regret staying in the PAC bc the Big 12 will have much better options in 2031.

Thought it was interesting that Berry Tramel doubled down on his Colorado to the Big 12 rumblings.

LIV Golf on CW started around 500,000 viewers and then fell off a cliff.
But they did start at 500k which isn't awful awful.
So CW could be somewhat viable here for a college football channel
But it all comes down to straight cash, homie
TBH I didn’t even realize LIV was on CW. I thought that was going to be for next year.
It all depends on what the PAC is going up against. Cause let’s be honest, much of their late night viewership were gamblers chasing games. That’s not going away. So if there are competitive games, they’ll still get viewers regardless of which channel they are on.
500k for CFB would be low end but not disaster. ~20% lower but comparable to FS1, ESPN2, BTN.
That said, those games are still very low value to the network, my estimates for those are <$1M per game. Until you get to 1-2M viewers per game, there just isn't much incremental value.
If PAC wants money, they need to get more big games onto bigger networks in the better timeslots. And the bigger networks don't seem to have much interest, or timeslots available. They have to hope streamers are willing to overpay vs historical linear. My amateur estimate for their number is still <$25M per team (higher if the PACN pays for production).

Not everywhere. Most places if it is on air it is on a subchannel like .2 or .3, similar to MeTV etc. And in many places it still isnt offered. It also is not broadcast in HD in some places too. Other places it is on a very low power signal so the coverage is not very far.
Many streaming providers do not include the CW in the package and it is not considered part of their Local channel package, with Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS. So if you dont have an antenna, or if you never switch to your over air from your streamer you wont see it.

This is what makes me think it’s going to be bad- Kliavkoff doesn’t want to be at the podium trying to defend the deal for PAC media days. This is assuming there is even a deal to announce yet.
There won’t be a bad deal announced ahead of time. But if he comes through with a good contract he might just announce it live from the podium.
Lots of Boston College-Georgia Tech type games headed for the CW.
I actually like it from the CWs perspective. It's not going to cost them anything to produce and the ACC is in enough decent sized markets that you'll be able to pull a few more viewers than you otherwise would have.
Then assuming that the Tier 3 rules haven't changed in the ACC, you'll get at least one Duke Basketball game and at least one Carolina basketball game which have enough national appeal to get you a big number a couple times.
I don't think there's a loser in the deal.

CW has far more reach than RSNs currently do.
Not according to that Crakes guy. He's got a bunch more tweets on the ACC/CW deal. I don't know if he knows what he's talking about, but Jason Scheer over at the Arizona 247 site thinks he does.
The numbers I saw were less than 300k per day for the first two tournaments of 2023. And as you mention, they have dropped since.
CW is probably a good choice to show ACC tier 3 rights- it's readily available.
CW would be equally great for Pac12 if:
- CW is willing to pony up Big Boy linear TV rights $ for tier 1/2 rights if that is their interest.
- The Pac10 was a 14 or 16 team conference and CW was willing to pay ESPN+ type money for games 5-7 each Saturday.
That Crakes dude must not be aware of the ongoing RSN bankruptcy proceedings and carriage issues that are significantly impacting exposure of MLB and NBA teams in many large markets for most linear providers (including linear streamers HuluTV and YTTV).
