Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

The difference is their ******** comes from people who might know something. And they're occasionally right.

Swaim's ******** comes from his own mind, and he's been nakedly making stuff up for over a decade. Anyone following realignment should know this. MHVer3 is more credible than Swaim is. More than anything, I'm just baffled at why people still follow Swaim like he knows something.

F uck thats a low bar.

I'd be completely fine with deleting posts that are Swaim tweets. It's a completely pointless thing to throw in here as it has no connection to reality. I might as well just make up realignment rumors too.

The same could be said for Wilner/Clownzano tweets as well, right? What have they been right on so far? I just heard one of them say that it’s likely that the PAC deal blows the Big12 deal out of the water.

Probably, but I deleted Twitter off my phone 3 months ago and haven't looked back. It's kind of nice to not have **** shoved in my face that's intentionally being sent my way to make me mad.

I only get on Twitter if somebody posts a tweet on here that I'm interested in looking at. Which isn't often. I don't have an account so I can't really dive into those tweets, and I'm ok with that. Twitter sucks.

Here are the couple things I find most interesting about all of this.

People with a prominent platforms expressing certainty about opposite outcomes. Like there’s Altimore on one side and Mhver on the other. Mundo sounded pretty certain about Colorado and Arizona joining the Big 12 until about a week ago.

What’s in the minds of decision-makers at AZ and CO? It’s totally possible they’re just using the threat of leaving as leverage in Pac 12 negotiations. And it’s possible they’re really considering moving.

I’m finding that I want them in the Big 12 mostly as an affirmation of our conference. That’s not the best reason, but it would be nice after all the BS that’s been dumped on us from all quarters.

How many years did it take you to realize what twitter was? I never signed up when I heard what it was. I don't have facebook either, never saw alure of it.

It used to be much easier to avoid that stuff. If the people you followed weren’t Tweeting it, it didn’t get in your feed.

In the last 5-6 months Twitter started pushing stuff you didn’t follow and the people you followed weren’t interacting with into your feed

Wannstedt claimed he heard at a Fox meeting that KU and ISU were heading to the Big 10.
Here’s a link and the full quote.

https://rutgerswire.usatoday.com/20...ate-and-kansas-are-going-to-join-the-big-ten/

“And for any of our listeners, it sounds like the Big 12 … the Big 12, we know Oklahoma and Texas are gone. And for any of our listeners, it sounds like Oklahoma State and Kansas State are going to the Pac-12. So that’s done. It sounds like West Virginia is going to end up in the ACC, which would make sense with Virginia, Pitt, everybody there. And it sounds like Iowa State and Kansas are going to join – they’re the two schools that are probably going to join the Big Ten here locally.”

It was amazing that anyone took him even remotely seriously.

That's not what it was. Twitter was originally a place to share and engage with whatever you pleased.

It started with users simply telling other users what they were up to. "eating breakfast". Obviously that got stale, and it started to be a place to share jokes, mostly observational humor because characters were limited and it was text-based. Then it became a place to share news and other forms of media. The discussion on Twitter became more important than the comments section on your website. Then Twitter became the news source.

More than anything, your Twitter feed was a reflection of your tastes. As long as you're curating your follows, you should mostly get posts that you're interested in. But the For You tab completely discards that experience. What it actually means is "For Elon". It wants to send you crap and hope that you stay on the app because you can't look away from the crap. It's the opposite of what it used to be.

You can act like you've always been above the fray and not joined in, but all that really means is you never figured out how to use Twitter effectively. If you enjoy sports and news, Twitter used to be extremely valuable. Since Elon took over, it's become more of a random internet bulletin board that wants you to engage with lowest common denominator content.

You should listen to the Ourand podcast with Finebaum. One of the most level headed takes I’ve heard. I think people look at Finebaum as just an SEC talking head but he is a long long time employee of ESPN and was in the room when the SEC Network went live and helped get Dish and DTV on board.

Yeah, this is the only reason I really want them to join too.

I act like I'm above the fray and not joined in????? I've literally never had a twitter account after I saw that crap that was going on with a group of JH kids I was overseeing a little under 10 years ago. It was obvious then that it was going to be a cess pool and I had interest in wading into it. So there is no acting that I've never joined, I never have.
