Hopefully the Oline hire is the missing link.

It always comes down to OL play. Sure having guys like Purdy and Hall mask some of the issues with a bad line, but in the end, if you can't run and you can't protect the QB you are going to be really inconsistent on offense, which ISU was last year.Hopefully the Oline hire is the missing link.

Consistency and adversity are the two most overused words in coachspeak.'Inconsistent' is a nice way of putting it.

Eh not necessarily. Any scheme can work. It just comes down to if you have the players for the scheme, and obviously execution. Play calling is also a major factor.I get that this is coach speak, but scheme was most definitely part of the problem last year. Not the whole problem, sure. But it absolutely cost us
He will, he's already gotten a really strong O line coach. If Campbell won't continue to evolve and get better as a coach...then that's on him. BUT...I think he will. We'll see.
Coach Rasheed is awesome and our previous on-line coach wasn't.Question for those who may be more technical than me..
How is the CMC staff elite at d-line while so far showing incompetence on the other side of the line of scrimmage?
the thing that always bothers me is he had a great Oline coach. While Manning definitely wasn't a star at OC he was a Top 5 OL coach. I just don't know how the issues with this position group weren't seen by Manning. He sees those kids every day in some capacity. He will, he's already gotten a really strong O line coach.
Regarding Nate S, I do feel he lets Scheelhaase put his imprints all over the offense. If Scheehaase didn't have the freedom to do this I don't think he'd still be here, like why take a power 5 OC job if you can't have some latitude.
Or the same delayed handoff on every first down, especially if they just had a chunk play. Monty and Hall made it work, but you're not always gonna have tackle-breaking savants that become NFL workhorses to rely on. Gotta be more creative in the running game, IMO.I’m still excited to see where the offense goes this year. I didn’t expect any big changes in the philosophy or scheme, which I think is fine.
Hopefully we just see upgraded o-line play along with more creativity and awareness with the play calling. Those two things I believe could make a huge difference while not making big changes to the scheme and philosophy.
We were never going to go full spread style. Having said all that if we run more delayed handoffs out of shotgun on the 1-2 yard line my head might explode.
Don't disagree with all those points. And Coach Campbell really stressed consistency of results in his press conference.Exactly, nor should it. Return to the run first offense with a cohesive offensive line. Use the tight ends etc. Execute Execute Execute
