Getting the snow off our cars after getting back from KC last night sucked. But 5:50!A Sara is happy 8:30p Sara didn't flake out and not do it.
On this day in 1990, 14 tornado's were reported in Iowa. One touched down near Ankeny injuring 15 and causing almost 6 million dollars in damage.
This event was bookended by one of the worst ice storms in decades to hit Iowa just a week earlier......and a snowstorm a few days later.

On this day in 2004 a snowstorm hit Iowa. Des Moines ended with a little over 17 inches, Sioux City had 19 inches. Big storm for the entire state.
Need another 5" or 6". We've come too far to not hit the Top 5!
Man, I've never in my life seen the northern lights. (Outside of photos).
