Cu is a dumpster fire, Mizou has been okay
The older Mizzou fans (pre-SEC move) miss the Big 12 because they actually had natural rivals with teams and fans cared more (and actually showed up to games) than they do now. New fans (students since 2012) are SEC SEC but they don't show up to games unless its a ranked team. The money may be better but the school sold out Mizzou fans when they moved to the SEC.Cu is a dumpster fire, Mizou has been okay
Pac 12 commissioner? Is that you?CU was, but Coach Prime is in town

The Utah radio guys are reporting that the Pac-12 is done with it's negotiations, and is moving on to the grant of rights portion.
Deal is for $25 mil per school, games shared between Amazon and ESPN. They are not sure of the length, but said that it's probably somewhere between 5 and 7 years.
If they are right, then we should find out within a couple weeks whether or not this is enough to keep the PAC together.
I'm typically skeptical about radio guys as sources, but take it fwiw.
And it could be more than 7 mil with the escalator triggered. Adding those schools I would think the escalator could add a few more million. Not something that is possible in the PAC.I can't imagine Washington and Oregon signing GOR for 25 mil per school. The 4 corner schools now know they can make 7 mil more in the Big 12 and be in a much more stable position. I think the smoke is going to grow this week.
So the interesting question is how much of a lower payout UW and UO would take and for how long? Would they take 35-40mil per year in the big ten for the remainder of the contract just for the security? Would they take a cut for longer? And it could be more than 7 mil with the escalator triggered. Adding those schools I would think the escalator could add a few more million. I am sure they would have to for a while, would it be for the entire contract...possibly.So the interesting question is how much of a lower payout UW and UO would take and for how long? I'm actually skeptical that this deal would drive schools to move. I don't see the 4 corners schools raising our per school payout via the escalator, and I don't think $7m per is enough to entice them to come over. And it could be more than 7 mil with the escalator triggered. Counterpoint. The deal could be so bad that the big ten could take UW/UO for pennys on the dollar. That could have the corner schools bail for the big12I'm actually skeptical that this deal would drive schools to move. Oregon and WashIngton could possibly raise the per school, but I just think they would rather rule the P12 waiting for a B1G offer at this point.
Yeah, perhaps there isn't much waiting for the B1G offer and that sets things in motion. I'm just not convinced the B1G is all that interested in OU and UW, if they were I feel like it would have happened at the same time as USC and UCLA.Counterpoint.
