Lipsy was able to blow past his guy when he drove late, up one and it’s set up for grill to jack one up? I know he was hot earlier but his previous 3 barely hit the front of the rim.
What the hell was Grill doing at the end? He took 3 desperation shots in the last minute when we had plenty of time and didn’t have to force any of them.
our end of game , end of half plays are pathetic. Every single time I think to myself, that's what we had drawn up? They only time we pulled it off was at TCU, but that was only because Kalscheur made a heroic shot.I’m certain this has been mentioned by now, but the plays he’s drawn up all year have been absolutely horrendous. It’s almost a guarantee they aren’t getting a bucket out of a TO or set play.
I'm not arguing with you. Nor am I defending Jones. He was pretty bad last night. Nobody could defend Obanor. At least not without getting a whistle blown against themYes it does, actually. You stated a reason for King being pulled that was erroneous and false. The way you stated it implied Jones and/or Osun were BETTER options due to King's defense. Jones is not, was not, nor will ever be a better option than King. For anything. The last several games teams have went to the high screen/ pick and roll for the sole intent of forcing us to switch Jones on a guard. This results in a direct chance from the ball handler blowing by Jones or results in open shots by way of defensive breakdown. It's literally a wash, rinse, and repeat EVERY single time he's out there. Not only that, but Jones is the worst 'recover' defender we have. He lacks the athleticism, quickness, and reactiveness to make up ground. It screws up our entire defense.
I'm trying to think of another that's received as many unnecessary minutes as Jones and I can't. That's for any team, any sport, and any era (college or pros).
TJ was awful tonight. You almost have to try to lose that game tonight. It’s almost impossible to do. Some teams might actually be investigated for throwing a game losing like we did. Just throwing the ball right to the other team nearly every time up the court.
This seems like hyperbole but it’s not. We had a 99.6% chance to win with 16 mins left and up 23. So we aren’t exaggerating that this was a historic, epic meltdown.
Well, let's at least try to get to .500 now. This team is completely lost, Kansas will embarras us in Hilton.
Ok, we'll see. Numerous times we've played we'll in Lawrence then they turn around and control is the entire game in Ames. Kansas is getting on track, Iowa State is going downhill fast. That’s stupid. We are less than a week past beating a better team than Kansas at Hilton.
But we will see what this team and coaches are made of. They’ve got to bounce back mentally. And the coaches have got to try a few new things. They might not work but they owe it to the team.

Lol, those **** teams have figured us out but you donr think Bill Self and Scott Drew will figure us out the 2nd time around? We’ve played 3 really awful halves. I’m not sure if that’s us going downhill fast or not.
But like I said, they’ve got to try some different things. OSU, Missouri, and Tech have figured out the keys to beating us. I refuse to believe there are no adjustments we can make.
Agreed. And this was 100% a historic choke. I expect to destroy KU at Hilton on Saturday, or something is going on with the team that we aren’t aware of.

someday before I die, I hope we have a coach who can draw up a Bill Self inbounds-type play...just for once...because in my 50+ years, we've never had one
also, who was the last player we had who was truly a leader on the floor...when it mattered the most you KNEW he'd get the ball?
