Is Aaron Rodgers done?

Super excited for Brock and he’s been playing his ass off, but let’s not get carried away.
It’s not really a stretch, plus Brock has age on his side. Rodgers took a pretty big fall this year and next season he turns 40. Not many play well into their 40s.

If you’re talking about long term that is different. One is at the very tail end of his career and the other is in his rookie season.

But if you’re talking about right now - surrounded by equal talent - I don’t know how you say Brock Purdy is a better quarterback than Aaron Rodgers.

I’d say they are more or less in the dual range. Rodgers is probably a bit better still but really took a drop this year. People complain about the supporting cast but don’t think it was really that different.

When looking at it from an organizational standpoint of salary and future it isn’t even close. There is no way the 49ers trade for Rodgers.

Loss of Adams was huge, but the rest is debatable. Primary point is that supporting cast in SF is light years ahead of GB right now. You put Purdy on the Packers and I don’t think he’d be lighting it up right now.

Not trying to take credit away for what he’s doing, but I think comparisons to Rodgers are premature at this point.

And why would it be stupid to walk away from 59 mil when you’ve made $500 mil if you decide you don’t want to play anymore? I’m sure he’s got all the money he could ever possibly want.
Yeah he has more than enough money plus his endorsements can probably still go make a bunch doing other stuff if he wants. He certainly seemed like every time he got hit he absolutely hated it. Packers aren't really contenders at this point. I didn't watch every Packers game but outside of the last Vikings game everyone I watched he looked miserable and disinterested. He honestly didn't look like he cared if they won or not last night

I think the jersey swap was with the rookie receiver instead, but I could be wrong.
No. If he is not coming back, the jersey is being kept. If he is coming coming back, Cobb is getting it. Very evident that Cobb is done at least as a Packer if not fully retired.

GB's line is about equal to ISU on the NFL equivalent to college. They are hurt all the time and only have one side of the line that is decent but aging.

Lol Rodgers is just smarter than most people and enjoys messing with them. I'd be the same if i were in his shoes. Have you seen his current girlfriend....? MEOW

If your MO for feeling that you're a smarter person than most people is to enjoy messing with them in some sort of effort to project your superiority then to me that's a pretty big flashing light that you are really just a ginormous d*ouchebag.

And that's where I am with Rodgers. I used to like him because I found him witty and funny and refreshing; I've always liked characters who aren't afraid to be characters. But in the last few years his personality has just gotten tiresome, obnoxious and insufferable.

I hope he does retire so that we as sports fans don't have to hear about or put up with his antics anymore. I am neither a Packers fan nor a Packers hater either. I can certainly appreciate and respect his talent, but it was fun to see the Lions win in Lambeau last night.

Lol. People suck in general. Might as well have fun with it.

What I meant was that Jameson Williams was the one to ask for it. Aaron wasn't giving it to anyone. He said he was hanging on to it.

Jordan Love finally showed improvement this year. Not sure if that was coaxing Tom Clements back as QB coach or a natural progression and not sure if Clements stays if Rodgers quits.

He was asked this question directly in the post game. His response was essentially "I've already made a lot of money". Who knows if he meant it, but his body language was not a guy who seemed too concerned about it.
Rodgers says a lot things. He also said the decision on next year would be mutual. Packers have already said they want him back. Why does Rodgers need the Packers to agree to a retirement decision?
