Is Aaron Rodgers done?

Here is another thing I noticed about Rodgers the last 2 seasons: He looks totally disinterested at times in the game and on the sidelines. I don't think he in interested in playing for a team that is in rebuild mode.
The Packers aren't in full rebuild though. Their defense is pretty solid now, it's their receiving corp and half their Oline that is poor. They pull a good Olineman in the first round and a solid receiver in the second and they have something set. I think Lazard is done at GB due to the salary situation, unless he does something like plays cheap this year and takes a large bonus if they make the playoffs (don't know if they still allow those things like Norton did when he played for 100k but if they won the SB he received 1MM bonus). Think the Pack won't be able to pay more than maybe 2MM to him this next year, unless they dump a TE or somebody. The Rodgers contract is starting to become an anchor, but look what the Lions did; basically took it up the rear last year and cleaned up their salary cap in major ways and started their youth movement. I think that may be what happens after this next season.

Rodgers is either retiring or coming back for one more year. It's not that difficult to figure out with his contract.
Interesting that a lot talking heads think Rodgers could be traded after the cap hit goes down to $15 million on June 1st. Seem to think there are teams out there that will take on a huge two-three year deal.
Don’t hear too many buying the retirement talk that they heard last year too.

I think the Russell Wilson experiment should wake some teams up, but then again, that's why some teams are habitual losers, because they make stupid deals. I'd take a trade for him, his stats in the 4th quarter of games the last three years facing elimination are absolutely putrid.

Dallas could use him, definitely an upgrade there, heck anyone who doesn't throw to the other jerseys would be an upgrade.

Interesting article on AR's contract. Green Bay may actually prefer that he retires now, because the cap situation actually gets worse if he plays one more year with them and retires then.

"Rodgers' contract is structured in a manner where the cap ramifications get worse for Green Bay if he doesn't retire this offseason. Although $31,623,570 is a manageable 2023 cap number for Rodgers to stay with the Packers, the dead money takes a big jump if Rodgers hangs up his cleats after the 2023 season.
Green Bay would have to contend with $68.205 million of dead money in 2024. It would be composed of $24.48 million of roster bonus proration and $43.725 million of option bonus proration from Rodgers' 2024 through 2026 contract years. As with the roster bonus, Green Bay won't have any recoupment rights with an option bonus past the year when exercised."

Not sure how standard it is, but structuring some of the payments in a way where they can't be recouped by the team if he retires, while shrewd, seems very much in character for Aaron Rodgers
