Why is life worth living?

A few years ago thanks to my wife's encouragement I finally got some help via medication for my anxiety. Looking back I wish I would have done it in high school as SO many things make more sense as to how I reacted/handled myself that I now know was driven by anxiety and stress.

I guess any spot that requires flying etc. to get to.

Interesting, like I said just curious.

Even though I have clients contacting me numerous times every day and at all times during the day/night, I make sure to get away on trips a few times a year. Usually a week to a beach location, and a few weekends to National Parks (my wife is trying to visit every National Park),

If you're still dealing with this even after a buffet of pills then it seems like the pills arent doing a damn thing.

Just speaking for me, I wouldn't be typing this if it weren't for medicine, unfortunately. In fact, I wouldn't have made it to 20, let alone here at 40. Sometimes things are just so severe that even multiple meds it's still so unbearable. And that's with trying just about anything and everything to avoid pills.

Everybody is different, that's just my personal experience.

Meditation has been a huge help for me. It takes a lot of commitment, but I promise it helps immensely over time. I use the Headspace app.

I cant quote you for some reason, but from my experience idle hands are the devils workshop. Get a hobby outside of a computer. Its easy for someone like me to say but of the people I see suffering the most from mental illness are the ones that isolate themselves. Plenty of organizations that need help from people right now. For me personally I dont have time to be anxious. I am go go go from 6am until i go to bed at 11pm

Yeah and that can work to get out of the daily grind.

I'm talking more to if someone just does that to try to alleviate a condition/symptom of something for a short burst vs. establishing some form of routine healthy activity that doesn't require extensive travel.

I thought some of this before I got to deal with this on a very deep basis. You can say get a hobby, but a lot of the reason they are sitting and not doing much else is because their mind is churning 100 mph already. The mentally don't have time for that, and they really don't know what and how to start due to this. I have tried dragging my friend to things, his kids have too, but no matter how much he does or we do with him, his mind is still fixstated on the issues that are bothering him.

I am not talking about going to a ballgame, helping your fellow man is more of what I was meaning. Go volunteer a soup kitchen, handout bottle water to the homeless. Something that generally makes you feel good. Its not easy, but you have to find something they can connect to. Anything to get off the dang pills that are designed to make you come back for more.

That is the type of stuff I try to do with my friend, once again it's easier said than done. My friend was working 12 hour days 6 days a week, so he basically had time to work, go home eat, have a couple hours to be around his family and sleep. He still would be in the funk during work, even. I got calls at every break, his wife sat with him during lunch and he still would call and text me about issues.

Seems like its time to wean him off the pills, they could be making him worse.

Dealt with anxiety for over 20 years now. Got to the point I didn't want to leave the house. I only usually have attacks when I'm being rushed or not having a plan. It's crazy how much it messes with you physically as well.

No. But I also didn't offer unsolicited medical advice.
People are allowed to do whatever they want. Like I said before if you're still incapable of blending in with society even after a buffet of pills then why keep taking them? There has to be another way. They are literally designed so you come back for more, and work your way to higher dosages.

They have tried, honestly, that is what caused this downward spiral, they tried to mess with his meds. Been 4 years of hell, you got anymore medical advice?

Seems like you have tried a lot of stuff, might as well give up. That's sarcasm by the way.
