***Official 2022 Weather Thread***

For you guys saying this is a dud wait until tonight into Friday. Blizzard conditions are still on the way with 50 mph wind gusts. Likely still going to **** several roads down. 4-5 inches is plenty to blow around
Dud. And by that I mean it's nothing we haven't seen before. We live in Iowa and get blizzards.

And I direct "dud" to the national media. On here and pretty much with the local guys they held off on hyping it or predicting totals till early this week and quickly those totals trended down so they nailed it.

A storm like this might be the exception. The duplex subdivision behind me has be going since 4am. I expected a crap load of snow, but there is less than a couple inches. My guess is snow removal pros want to keep sidewalks and driveways clear to prevent small drifts that could become huge when wind gets really bad.

Cedar Rapids is 7am, but I don't think anyone cares for snow, at least no one cares on my street. Thankfully we were told to work from home today and tomorrow if we wanted.

honestly i'm more of the "give me a big storm or dont bother" type
Not to say it's a dud here (MO). Wind was calm (fairly) a few minutes ago. Now it's really picking up. We'll get some snow but none here yet.

Going to be very windy, -3 below, or so; and -14 WC, for quite a while today, tomorrow. So pretty good storm here, but not horrific at all, like maybe I was expecting?

We are tucked in and warm. Don't have to go anywhere today.

Atleast we don't live in the Great Lakes area, and routinely get truckloads of snow!

This kind of storm with all of the ingredients it has (huge swath, every type of winter ingredient (snow, ice, wind, dangerous cold) is way worse than like a 9” snow dump with no wind and Sun the next day.

The good part is what little snow fell doesn't have much moisture content. So if temps warm up next week like they are forecasting a lot of this will be gone in a few days.

6am for me and also seems to be the early start in my neighborhood. (People still need to get to work.) On the weekend, I'd move it back to 7 or 8 am.
On the weekend, it should be no different than mowing your yard, in my opinion. 8-9.

During the week, you have to get out to go to work, **** everyone else, and do what you gotta do.

Why not just floor it to get out of the driveway without cleaning it? Then clean the driveway later in the day or after work. Especially if it’s still snowing. And you have 24 hours to do the sidewalks too.

That’s what I just did to drop the kids off at daycare anyway. I’m not cleaning until it’s done snowing

Jesus grow up.

For the adults in the room is anyone in CR blowing yet? I'm afraid I'll just end up with more of the white stuff to clean up
I did at 5:30 so my wife (nurse) could get to work. Just did enough of the driveway for her van. Will do the same tonight whenever she gets off. Other than that the rest is waiting until Saturday morning.

In Monticello and no. I might think of doing it this afternoon. I won’t do it until the city does the street though
