How early is too early to for up the snowblower? 5:00? 6:00? What’s the neighborly norm here?

On a weekday with work, I think 5:00 am is acceptable. You gotta do what you gotta do. On the weekend, I probably wouldn’t start until about 8 am.

6am for me and also seems to be the early start in my neighborhood. (People still need to get to work.) On the weekend, I'd move it back to 7 or 8 am.

Numb nut neighbor out at 4:15. Just so he could go sit in the sauna at Ames Fitness in Somerset. Guy is mental. I just keep looking out the window wondering when I should start as I do two neighbor’s driveways besides mine.

You need better sources than an article, covering AccuWeather’s accuracy, provided BY AccuWeather, and listed on a site that no one has ever heard of.

My bad. It was a quick goog. There was a study linked the article but I didn't click it till now. You're right, nothing there worth considering.

For you guys saying this is a dud wait until tonight into Friday. Blizzard conditions are still on the way with 50 mph wind gusts. Likely still going to **** several roads down. 4-5 inches is plenty to blow around

I never start before 7. Also depends on how loud. 2 stage? Electric?
Most cities have noise ordinances for certain hours, but I think there's an unspoken exception for snow removal. You can't be forced to wait until 6:30 to clear your driveway if you have to be to work at 6.

I bought some Kinco insulated gloves last year and thought they would do the trick, they didn't. My fingers were freezing. Any recommendations for gloves strictly for blowing snow?

Unlike mowing the lawn, I have no issues with anyone using their snowblower early if they need to. You gotta do what you gotta do, and with windows shut and all that snow to absorb the sound it's not always that loud anyway.

But for chrissakes, please adjust your choke so your engine runs steadily instead of sputtering up and down the entire time.

Still snowing pretty hard in Eastern Iowa. Currently in a snow squal warning so we are getting the worst of it for sure.
