***Official 2022 Weather Thread***

The system moving through Nebraska looks like heavier snowfall than what we've had, and it appears to be heading for central Iowa. Hard to believe it only drops another inch, if it stays in tact and on course.

What year? Land Cruisers are the ****. Ive been looking for one or a Lexus GX but they’re hard to find.

Side note. Ankeny roads are already kinda ******.
2006.

Love it. 175k and it is like brand new. Biggest irritation is the blue tooth is slow to connect on calls. I have had Volvos, Lexus, and other great cars. This LC is the best thing I have ever owned. There are several sources regionally to buy them. They just typically need to be bought cash since they are older. Mine would trade for more than I bought it(did get a deal but you get what I mean).

I keep hearing everyone say wait till tomorrow. Sure it’s going to be cold as balls, but overall I think this one was a dud. We will have plenty more opportunities in January.
Yeah, it’ll be cold and the wind will suck but the amounts were hardly anything. I know they don’t know how things will change as the days progress but it was a dud.

I have a newer Volvo right now and I want to switch it up. The price I’ve seen on most of them last time I searched is pretty crazy. You have to dig really deep to even find one in the area.

Yeah, it sounds like Iowa is missing the worst of it, but that's good. You want bad storms to be duds. Although there is the anticipation and excitement of maybe how bad it can get.

I think, today, in southern MO, we might get hit harder than Iowa. Probably not. It's prolly not going to be horrific either. Colder and windier than we normally get, that's for sure.

Stay warm. We've got the firewood (secondary heat) stacked and ready, inside. Lots of dead Ash now, got cut up. Green ash borer insect batards. :(

How early is too early to for up the snowblower? 5:00? 6:00? What’s the neighborly norm here?
6am is the earliest I'd start.

I figure I have to put up with dogs that bark any hour of the night and not complain about it. Tough if they can't stand a small engine sound at 6am. My kids slept through it when I used to start clearing snow that early.

Dud based on what though? Forecasts from 5+ days ago, maybe. Biggest warnings about this one have been the wind and temps for the past several days, and it sounds like those are still here.. for the next 48 hours. A feel like temp of -30 for that long isn't good, especially with travel sucky due to blowing snow.

I guess if all you're looking for is a lot of snow, sure, dud I suppose. I just didn't see this one hyped with a ton of snow - at least not recently, which if you haven't learned to not trust an Iowa forecast a week out, not sure what to tell ya.

He’s not happy unless a storm shuts the whole state down. As a guy that has to drive 20 mins to work and rarely has our business close with weather, I’ll root for the “dud” every time
