What amount do you think would be a satisfactory amount that we would need annually to not compete with the big dogs but to compete in our “lane” of p5 schools?

Maybe they just like collection different school's uniforms? Cheaper than trying to buy them on eBay - and they include their names on them.
Would be interesting to see how many were getting meaningful play time and how many were buried in the depth charts
While there will be diamonds like say a Devin Leary (a 2022 Heisman hopeful to start the season) or the Alabama OG who has never allowed a sack, I would guess a majority of the portal players will be irrelevant at their next destination.
