Tyrese Hunter, culture guy

He’s shown his character since being at Texas.

As has been said what makes college sports great for many people is the idea that it is about the competition and not money. You can argue that is a naive view especially now but you have to understand where people come from.

Tyrese has shown extremely poor judgement since transferring to Texas. No Cyclone should feel remotely bad for cheering against him because of his actions. He has brought all of it upon himself and deserves all of the hate.

Cheering against him is fine.

Acting like a kid transferring or leaving the program is some crazy notion doesn't carry weight and is hypocritical of ISU fans.

If he wanted to play off the ball more then I think that's fair. He looked good last night. I just don't see him as a 2 guard in the NBA.
I watched about 10-15 minutes of the game and I thought he was playing an almost identical role for them as he did for ISU last year. He’s improved his game though. Don’t remember him ever being that consistent from mid range last year.

Not cool.
You're right. It wasn't cool of him. He was kind of cornered by the interviewer, but he could have done something other than lie. But he has too enormous of an ego to take the high road. He should fit in well with Texa$$ culture generally, and with "Old Corruption" Beard more specifically.

I could be wrong, but most people I talk too got over him leaving because he made a wise decision for himself and his life.

What they are ruffled with is how much he started disparaging Ames and such as it was all unfolding and after he made the move to Texas.

That part was strange and off putting/unnecessary especially since from all accounts TJ and co. were completely understanding, so if people want to be rankled by that, I’m not going to hold that against them.

But from a pure decision standpoint, who cares? He made a move he thought was best.
It wasn’t just the leaving part. It was the way he handled himself at Big 12 media days and on Twitter.

It was just one game. He looked all world against LSU last year. I still am not convinced that he is a good enough shooter to make to the NBA as a SG. I will be shocked if he shoots over 40% overall and 35% from 3pt

Where/when did he disparage Ames?

I don’t dislike him because he left, I dislike him because he plays for Texas. I dislike all things longhorn. Think I may start boycotting longhorn steakhouse, none close so it kinda takes care of itself. I even stopped buying longhorn cheese (prefer others so once again it isnt really a boycott).

He walked up to Johnny Orr's statue and gave it the Hook'em Horns before he left. I thought I heard him mumble something about falling down.

One does not ******* dishonor Johnny.

EDIT: This is a clumsy photoshop done intentionally as a joke. I am sorry that some people didn't recognize this. I have no proof that Tyrese dishonored Johnny.

**** those scumbags. Hunter is a little sellout, I hope he crashes and burns.

He had like 8 offers including staying at Iowa State and picked the absolute worst program of the 8. We have triple the amount of Sweet 16s the last decade than Texas, not to mention all the blue bloods he had offers from and that's what he chose?
