Weather for Tech - 6pm, Sub-20s

Good point. Does anyone on here work outdoors and have any good tips on products like this that actually work? Or hunters? I’ll admit. Im an indoor person. But i want to be there for this game and not friggin freeze. Lol
I am guessing the $200 Carhartt coveralls would do the trick but we have never made that investment. Husband keeps saying he should get some every five years or so.

Guessing Mrs BC won’t go with the cold, was going to invite you to sit by me and keep warm but IIRC, you are kinda scrawny and a bigger lady would probably bring more heat to the situation. Gotta find me a thic woman to fill in for the wife.
Check your DM's.

Hopefully security isn't going to be a bunch of dicks and confiscate people bringing in booze. Those people watching this offense when its in the teens deserve a drink.

I've been caught once in my life, trying to get beer cans in for an October game when it was still warm enough that you didn't need a heavy coat. With all the layers and pockets people will have on Saturday, it'll be a piece of cake.

You used to have to be a little careful when sipping your contraband up in the stands, but I never see ushers anymore. I doubt it would be an issue.

One of my favorite moments was sometime in the 2000s, maybe 2003? It was the last game of a really bad season and we brought in some drinks. The usher saw us and started walking up the steps toward us, presumably to take them. About halfway, he just shrugs and turns around. I guess he figured the same as you, that if we were there suffering through that, a couple drinks weren't hurting anyone.

I’ve tried about ever brand but carhartt does seem to fit the best. Zippers in others are also cheap. Know I’m old when zippers get talked about.

I'll be there. I'll support our seniors... they deserve it. I have no problem with cold weather.. I live in Minn... this is nothing you can't endure. Dress smartly and cheer on our team. They have not won the close games and that is unfortunate. They are only one Manning(less) coach away from winning a lot of those.

For those of you coming out, I am making some warm blueberry and cherry cobblers to share. GO STATE!!!!!

There were a ton of ushers standing alone at top of student section last game with no students up there. Someone must have had a hissy fit about the football getting tossed over.

Meanwhile last CyHawk in JTS there were jackass Hawks throwing glass booze bottles over the stadium wall near where we sit.

Dress like we did for the last Liberty Bowl. Insulated long-john underwear, flannel lined blue jeans, flannel shirt, wool high-top socks, snow boots, red down-filled parka, wool stocking cap, insulated gloves, a bunch of hand warmers, a wool ISU blanket to sit on/block wind and ski goggles. Good luck with going to the bathroom.

As soon as I knew the kick time, I started my layering outfit in my head. That includes three pairs of "pants" basically, maybe four. I'm going at least five layers on the torso.

I have a feeling I'm going to be like the little brother in "A Christmas Story"...

"I can't put my arms down..."

You can do that, I can’t. I would probably get accused of trying to feel up the woman next to me if I was in that situation.

I have a pair of electric ski gloves. 2 years ago we went tubing at 7 oaks on a night that was in the single digits and it was windy and my hands didn't get cold but they had to be on the high setting which only lasts for a few hours. If they aren't turned on the insulation is not very good. I also have a pair of gordini gloves that keep my hands warm as well and are the gloves I will usually grab.

Something I learned from years of being in seed research and being outside in the harsh cold during harvest where you had be out in the elements, was that putting on latex gloves first, then out on regular gloves. They do wonders at keeping your hands warm. They are great! Be careful though as once you take them off your hands will get cold as the latex keeps the heat and moisture in. Great little trick I picked up on and it works!

I went to the USMNT game in St Paul last winter, night game with -15F wind chill. I was toasty warm and actually had my mittens off most of the time while drinking a quickly freezing beer. As far as I remember, here is what I wore:

- Two layers of long johns+socks
- Sweatpants+sweatshirt
- Snow pants+boots+coat
- Thin liner gloves under mittens
- Balaclava+stocking hat+neck gaiter
- Hand warmers in my mittens and the ones you stick to the bottom of your socks: https://a.co/d/bBnMAvW
- Assortment of 50 mL bourbons

I'm thinking I'll do something similar this weekend, maybe without the hand warmers and foot warmers to start.
