Been waiting and surprised this hasn't been talked about. With today's new bombshell, thought I'd post the links for discussion...

Favre Helps Divert $5 million from Welfare to USM Sports

Personal Charity Diverts $140,000 to USM Sports

Charity's background: Favre 4 Hope, whose mission statement says it provides support "for disadvantaged and disabled children and breast cancer patients," receives public donations.

As a Packers fan, always loved Favre. That changed with the first story and only got worse with the second. Such a horrible and rotten thing to do. Not just is it immoral on so many levels, he even continued when the then Governor of Mississippi told him it was likely illegal. When a politician tells you you've likely crossed a line, that's something.

Maybe when they sent him money, he sent them back a pic of his wiener.

American business as usual. I'll be surprised if he actually has consequences.
Unfortunately very likely true. It always pisses me off when people get black-balled for things like cheating on their wife (also terrible to do) but will get a pass for things like this. Hopefully this is different.

Farve is a sleaze bag. Farve hired a friend of mine to do specialized painting on his house in Mississippi. The cost of the project increased on the fly due to additional supplies and repairs needed. Farve refused to pay the difference, and my friend actually lost money doing the project. Total **** move by a multi millionaire.

That's pretty typical honestly. Gotta be careful of those big money specialty contracts. Over bid, protect yourself.

Sounds like that's on your friend. Wasn't able to provide an accurate quote on the project ahead of time. If the scope changed that much, should have stopped work until the new terms were agreed too. Hopefully he learned a valuable lesson there.

Fwiw it's been talked about a lot, but in a cave thread because the OP assumed it would eventually end there.

Posts so far in this thread seem to indicate that was a correct assessment.

Did he financially benefit from this? I’m not current with the story.

Yeah, for obvious reasons some people really identify with a grifting pile of garbage disguised as person.
