EA Sports NCAA College FB coming back Summer '24

Madden gameplay has been trash for the past decade. They just keep putting out the same game every year with player attribute adjustments. I don’t know if any franchise has phoned it in and got rich off of name only more than Madden. Maybe The Sims? Both not surprisingly EA games.

Anyway, if this is just a college version of madden, it’s gonna be a big letdown.

Ncaa football 09/10 on Xbox360 are the best versions imo. Still play today!
What would be the advantages of 09/10 over 07? Serious question - my favorite NCAA football game of all time is 07 for the OG Xbox, but my Xbox laser is dying, so I’ve been looking for 360 options (I do also have a PS3).

I really liked the gameplay of 07, and the formation subs - I also liked the discipline angle and the FCS teams, but those aren’t dealbreakers. The biggest thing about 07 that I liked was the recruiting system - it wasn’t overly complicated and it didn’t take an entire day to get through your calls for one week of recruiting, like it does with NCAA 12 (which is one option I tried). How is the recruiting system for 09/10? How much time does it take, how complicated is it? Seems like I remember EA put a lot more stuff into recruiting starting with 08, which made it way too time-consuming for me, but maybe I have that wrong.

05-10 we’re the best year but I’m prolly biased because those were my prime video game years. I do miss the formations subs in 09/10 but it isn’t that big of deal. The recruiting in those isn’t complicated but I have a quick way of doing it from years of playing. The game play in these are the best and feel the furthest from madden imo. I play on heisman and have had to adjust the sliders to the cpu favor to make more difficult or just use a lower tier school for a challenge.

Even if it's a carbon copy of Madden, as long as it has dynasty mode, it's going to sell like crazy. Madden continues to be one of the top selling video games every single year, despite all of its faults and the cottage industry dedicated to pointing them out. I'm not sure that NCAA will sell more, but the long hiatus basically will guarantee big numbers.

I really can’t imagine players holding out their Image and Likeness for more money. Like the Clemson QB said, they just want to be included in this legendary game even if they didn’t get paid.

Some of these guys are getting 7 figure deals - I can definitely see a few feeling entitled and holding out if the EA deals are only 4 figures as reported.

Guessing most of them won't see the light of day though because somebody will explain to them that they're going to be in the game either way. All that the NIL deal is determining is if it is their last name or QB #7.

It does so well because it’s the only football game, not because it’s actually good.

I only play about an hour of video games a year now and haven’t bought a video game in 5 years, but I will absolutely buy and play the living **** out of NCAA 23

Group of friends in different parts of the country, we created our own schools/programs, plugged ourselves into a conference, and started a Dynasty playing each other online. Dynasty mode is everything, as is building your own school/program.

no disagreement there. Doesn't change anything, though.
If it's a carbon copy, Madden sales will drop. People I know bought both games in the past because they played differently. If both play the same now, I think people will be more tempted to choose one or the other rather than both.

My high school group of friends had like a 9 season online dynasty with us accounting for all ten Big 12 teams. When we were all back home for the holidays or summers during college we'd get together at someone's house and bring our consoles and a TV, stay up all night and hammer through as many weeks as we could. We still talk about it when we get together, just so much fun. A few years later ended up having a pretty decent run in Madden online franchise but it just doesn't compare to the recruiting aspect you get with NCAA.

I know I'll buy it but it's tough to see it being better than the 14 Revamp. Best thing ea did was bring some of the revamp guys on board.

14 had the best recruiting. Just the right level of involvement and complexity. 12 and 13 were way too deep and time consuming for me.

Highly recommend utilizing college football revamped if anybody has a ps3/xbox 360 for NCAA 14, they updated uniforms, record books, etc. It's like you are playing a current version. I agree that 14 had my favorite recruiting, just the right amount of nuance and not too time consuming. Hope when the new one comes out its just as good and not a reskin of madden

Isn't it going to crazy that in 2022, they won't be able to have every team? Sounds like tcu and Wisconsin won't be involved.
