Lopez from Miami will probably draw a big ransom. Giants have probably treaded water long enough that Rodon won't be available. Montas has the obvious injury question mark.

If the D-backs put him on the block, Zac Gallen would be a nice add. If the Twins go all out, they make a deal for Joe Mantiply at the same time. Both are relatively cheap salary wise, but I'm sure demand is high.

Did the Twins front office schedule summer vacations this week? Crickets.....
 
The Twins are so banged up right now, it's hard to fathom any more possible trades. I do like the Lopez deal.

Nice trade, especially when you consider they didn't have to give up much. A couple lottery tickets for an All-Star reliever
 
Don't love that we had to give up Steer. Looks like he will be in the big leagues in a short amount of time.

Agree, but he's pretty redundant with Arraez, Lewis, Miranda, so there isn't a ton of room for him. If Mahle performs then next year and a half like he has been, its a good trade.

It’s hard not to wonder just what Mahle’s performance might look like in another uniform, as his numbers away from the homer-happy Great American Ball Park are tantalizing. Few pitchers have such a dramatic home/road split as Mahle, who since 2020 has pitched to a 2.93 ERA on the road but an ugly 4.89 mark at home. Mahle has allowed 1.75 homers per nine innings pitched in Cincinnati, compared to just 0.52 long balls per nine on the road. He also has a better strikeout rate and opponents’ hard-hit rate than either Castillo or Montas, dating back to 2020 — albeit with the highest walk rate of the three.

Top 3 bare minimum. Could see a playoff rotation of Gray, Mahle, and Ryan. With Winder being moved to reliever along with Archer. Then we can hope Maeda can come back to be a RP by playoff time too.

Yeah there's always value in a guy who gives you 6 innings of 2 or 3 run ball.
