Just curious, why is that?
I think teams get more desperate the later it gets. Several programs may be inclined to pass now. And with “NIL” money, scholarship numbers do not matter as much anymore.
I would take Bates in a heart beat. Him and Ward can split 40 minutes, and even play along side each other for a few minutes. They're both very elite defensively!!

Splitting the 40 minutes of the 5 spot is why, although he’s an intriguing prospect, I’d either give him Jones spot or go 14 to sign him.
Are you confident enough in Williams, AJG, Holmes, and Gabe is an improvement over last year to use a scholarship to improve 20 minutes at the 5? Imo that is betting a lot on Williams and Holmes improving and maintaining, respectively. If Bates is that much better than Ward, and stays healthy, he’s getting 30 minutes. Which means Ward’s either not playing much, and/or we have 3-5 guys at the 4. Plus Jones. The front court should be improved, but mostly just better at the same things, with 5 scholarships for 2 positions. It would be an amazing sell by TJ, that’s for sure.
If everything goes as hoped, I see it. But normally I’d rather have “too many” guards than too many forwards.

I was thinking the same thing, but don't feel like going rounds with a "Well-Known" especially since I'm a "Newb"

If we aren't going to have a team full of offensive threats, then best fill them with elite defenders.
In a perfect world.we get another Guard that can score, but I think Holmes, Williams and Green can more then fill the void of IZB and Hunter. Green is a proven scorers so he can easily step in and take IZB's spot. I also don't think he is "one way dependant" in reference to IZB only being able to score going to his left.
The only thing about Grill is his ball handling! If you watch he doesn’t like to hold on to it very long gets rid of it quickly even when he’s shooting! He’s not one to dribble very long either! Needs to work on that part of his game!
Agreed. I think he gets far more breathing room to shoot with if he adds a bit of a threat handling the ball, even a little next year.
And if Gabe were a 40% 3P shooter on 170 attempts, we’re a much better offense a year ago. I’m also adding Kunc post moves and Williams a 3P shot to the wish list.

6'5, 6'4", 6'4", 6'8", 6'11" for your starting lineup... That's 9 players expecting major minutes. AJ Green would play 35+. Gabe vs Grill for meaningful PT IMO. 8 is a nice rotation over 8 doesn't really work or happen often. Robert Jones is reduced to foul trouble duties. Freshman likely don't play unless Gabe doesn't return
Remember the Prohm 2020/21 lineups with Tyler Harris (5'10"), Tre Jackson (6') and Rasir Bolton(6'2"), Javon (6'6") and Solo (6'6")

I think it was near 100. AJ Green is the biggest reason for our ranking inside the top 40.
Not adding back Gabe moves us up from 38 to 37 if anyone is wondering what the Torvik algo thinks of Gabe

Most guys who reclassify this late wait until AAU is over or at least until Peach Jam is over for the high level guys, which Biliew obviously is.
