2022 Recruiting/Transfer Class

Conditt was a pretty good finisher, and Jones was very below average. Conditt shot free throws at 70% compared to short of 30% for Rob. Conditt was a better shot blocker, and rebounded about a similar rate. Conditt was second on the team in assist rate. He turned it over a bit more than Rob.

The most common lineups that ISU played were better defensively (I've gone through those lineups and their AdjD ratings) with Conditt than they were with Jones. It wasn't even that close.

Conditt would have been a good big off the bench and I think he was best suited for that role. Jones is a very marginal player at the B12 level. Appreciate his hustle, but Conditt was a much better player by the numbers offensively and what I can find defensively. Conditt had 1.2 OWS and 1.3 DWS compared to 0.1 and 0.9 for Rob comparatively. Conditt 0.4 OBPM and 4.9 DBPM vs. -1.7 and 4.2 for Rob.

I know, I know, Rob was better because you think so. But the numbers don't come close to saying it. One was a decent big off the bench in the B12, and the other is hard to find a player similar in the conference that was actually part of a rotation, let alone starting somewhat frequently.
I wish conditt looked to score more. He always had his back to the basket around the ft line but he would never turn around and look for a shot when he had a pretty nice shot. I hope at the next level he looks to score more

Adding Council would be equal to landing AJ Green in the model. My transfer wish list is:

1: Green
1a: Council
3: Bates
4: Holmes
And they fit very well together. Council is IB imo.

I’d take all three if they were willing (unlikely, although we are thinking we have a chance of Bates wanting to join a 4-5 man competition for 2 spots). And if Bates was wanting to commit too, we’d find room Imo.

Williams
AJ
Council
Holmes
Gabe

Watson
king
Kunc
Ward
Bates

It’s still daydreaming season

The only problem with that is if D-Rob is sending his best players to TJ, D-Rob will be an assistant coach at ISU in about 3-4 years:)

I think schools are going to need to figure out how to develop more of a connection between student-athletes and their university. If the relationship is all about sport, then they are bound to feel like a commodity open to the highest bidders.

In before some other poster suggests- NO hookers & blow is not an option. Although I think Louisville did try the former.
They were "dancers".
