*** Official Oklahoma State vs IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

You're right, but we'll never forget this game. 36 points. If we forget this game, then that means Iowa St scores less than this 36.

WI was once ranked no. 10 and lost 36-33 in the B1G tournament.

Nobody talks about it.

There's been several times this season that ISU's players have shown more maturity than the posters on CF (albeit not difficult)...let's be thankful for that.

Some of those (like 4 in a row) were tough but I don’t think it would have mattered. We just didn’t have enough offense to even keep up with those calls going our way
Refs didn't lose us the game, but thought they cost us the bets opportunity to win... That "goaltend" on the dunk would have made us only down 6. We looked defeated after that. We have to respond better to that kind of adversity, so not an excuse.

I don't follow recruiting that closely. We have a couple guys coming in that score some damn points?
I like all the guys in a vacuum, but afaik neither of the guards are really shooters as of now, Watson is supposed to be solid though. King and Lipsey will hopefully help by being able to get to the rim, but none of them should be expected to come in and play major roles immediately as freshman. If they do, that's a bonus.

The transfer already on campus should help a bit, Tre King was pretty solid at Western? Kentucky. But I do think there's work to be done in the transfer portal, need to get at least another true big and likely some guys who can reliably handle the ball and maybe hit a jumper IMO.

Does this performance actually shock anyone though? It shouldn’t.

If Brockington ever has an off night…. this kind of game could happen at any time for this team.

Hunter will be far and away our best returning player next year…. and honestly….. he’s just okay. High ceiling, but has a ways to go. His handle is average at best.

Yep, I can’t help but wonder in next year we will look back and really see how much Brockington carried this team. This staff has a lot of work to do to build a team without him next year.
This is the caution about next year. People just assume that this is year 1 and we will likely see a big improvement for that reason. Best scorer and rebounder by a mile, great leader and defender will be gone. That doesn’t mean ISU can’t be better, but IB is going to be a massive loss.

The same red flags present under Prohm have been evident in Big 12 play and the same concerns I had for the hire. Staff doesn’t show ability to make changes mid-game.

Kyle Green has made this a competitive team defensively but the lack of offensive tactician is going to bite us until we address it with an assistant hire I’m afraid. TJ doesn’t have it…we run the same predictable crap without changes or wrinkles every f***ing game. We’re poor on inbound plays. We’re poor out of timeouts. We decided George Conditt and Robert Jones were the best way to start an offensive possession. The indicators are there that the staff is in over it’s head offensively.
Brockington has made it work fairly often, especially as of late, but man it's been rough if he's not hitting tons of difficult shots.

And hope several guys decide to transfer out. Hate to say that, but it’s the truth.

Yeah, knowing the current scholarship situation it's basically written between the lines of my post. I hate it, but they're already one over the limit if everyone returns and I don't want to speculate on who or why but there has to be some turnover. If Brockington leaves and there aren't some big gets in the portal I'll be terrified for next season.

You did single him out. How many times did others make horrible passes that lead to turnovers instead of of putting points on the board? How many times where passes dropped that lead to turnovers instead of points on the board? There were many from the rest of the guys on the floor. It was a whole team loss you can’t just single one out.

Sorry Mrs. Walker.

Everybody sucked and your son, while bad, was most certainly not the reason we lost the game.
