*** Official Oklahoma State vs IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

quick check and 36 is one of the lowest scores in the girls state tournament so far. I will just leave it at that.

and you are right, they screwed themselves with this performance tonight. They will probably get smoked in Waco and lose first round and find themselves on the bubble somehow.

This is a game where TJ should have given Tre Jackson some run. Maybe he catches fire like he did in the Kansas game and hits 4-5 threes. That would have been enough to take control in the second half and get the crowd into it.

We were getting Jack s*** at the rim so might as well have just chucked jumpers.

Attacking at the basket this game meant:
-blocked shot
-uncalled foul
-turnover
-foul but we miss fts anyway
-ref erases real basket

Some of those (like 4 in a row) were tough but I don’t think it would have mattered. We just didn’t have enough offense to even keep up with those calls going our way
You're right. No putting a 'ref' shine on this one. It was all us. We just didn't play well in any area tonight. Hard to figure this team sometimes.

The same red flags present under Prohm have been evident in Big 12 play and the same concerns I had for the hire. Staff doesn’t show ability to make changes mid-game.

Kyle Green has made this a competitive team defensively but the lack of offensive tactician is going to bite us until we address it with an assistant hire I’m afraid. TJ doesn’t have it…we run the same predictable crap without changes or wrinkles every f***ing game. We’re poor on inbound plays. We’re poor out of timeouts. We decided George Conditt and Robert Jones were the best way to start an offensive possession. The indicators are there that the staff is in over it’s head offensively.

That was purely awful, but if they jump on the first tourney opponent and get a win, this won't matter.
You're right, but we'll never forget this game. 36 points. If we forget this game, then that means Iowa St scores less than this 36.

unfortunately that just tracks games with a ranked team, unlike today’s game where both teams are Unranked. I think Arizona State scored 29 which might be the lowest for this season.

There is not a lot of thought being put into the offensive end, frankly I wonder how much they actually practice offensively.
They've made a lot of changes on the offensive end over the last few weeks and it was successfully for the most part. Of course when you are hitting wide open threes at a reasonable clip that tends to make you look a lot better on offense.

Who did you want to come to ISU specifically?

I'm not asking about the hiring process or any of that; who specifically out there did you think should have come to Iowa State to coach?

Agreed but he turned the ball over just about everu time he touched it and he's the only guy that (legitimately) took actual points off the board.

I'm not singling him out but he didn't do anything to earn minutes tonight.

You did single him out. How many times did others make horrible passes that lead to turnovers instead of of putting points on the board? How many times where passes dropped that lead to turnovers instead of points on the board? There were many from the rest of the guys on the floor. It was a whole team loss you can’t just single one out.

Eh, I'm not concerned. The guys have been playing with their backs against the wall the last couple of weeks to get into the NCAA tournament, and by beating Kstate they did. Wacky things happen when pressure like that lifts. They'll reset now, probably still won't beat Baylor but I doubt they have another performance like this.

Yeah they did make changes, and those shoukd have been make long ever ago, and were obvious anyway.....it's concerning
