Please tell me I'm correct when I say that Dekkers has a few things going for him that Brock did not. Height, to throw OVER the D, the capability to "flick" a 20 yard pass and put touch on a 30 yard pass (not needing a heave to get it there, and the ability (If allowed) to sneak the freekin' ball.
Brock did some great work here, don't get me wrong. But, he did not have the strength and size that Dekkers seems to have. He needed a great back, very good execution (which he did sometimes) and guys that could catch shorter passes over the middle (then get hit immediately) consistently to be effective. I hated the fact that teams could more or less place 9 guys within 8 yards of Purdy and feel pretty comfortable most of the time.
It seems Dekkers could stretch the field a little more effectively and I think he has at least 2 guys that he could pass to next year.
Please tell me I'm not crazy thinking this could be true.
AND if we have ANY TEs that can be 1/2 the threat of recent guys, that could be dangerous.
