Where do the Cyclones go with Brock Purdy?

I wish he would've slid in bounds on that third down with a minute left. Take 40 more seconds off the clock and we're likely going to OT. I can't blame him for the loss though when the defense gives up 41 points.

I don’t think you can slide in that situation. Best not to run the clock down further. If we missed the field goal we still had enough time to get the ball back

Sorry I didn’t read all the responses cuz was laughing quite a bit at the question but if the best quarterback in school history wanted to come back again VS an unknown who i have know doubt is good and am excited to watch is the question. yes please give me another year of Brock

If the best QB in ISU history, holder of 30-some school records wants to come back, then the answer is an emphatic "yes".

But, I doubt he says that.
This comment is short sided I say this because he has been the perfect QB to get them from 3 wins to 7-9 wins consistently. However he has proven to not be, “that guy” in the clutch. Baylor drops the 2 point snap, can’t get it in the end zone at the end of the game today. INt (3 total in champ game last year) missed read on 2 Pt conversion @ OU two years ago, and more.

Again. He has been wanting for this program, but he has limitations and it shows and will continue to show.

Dekkers is bigger.with a better arm. If he has Purdya intangibles and leadership, he should win games that Purdy can’t finish.

No, he shouldn't come back. And that's not a knock on him but more... IDK. Its almost like staying in a relationship where both people are ready to move on but don't separate because its familiar. That's not a great analogy I know but its the only one I could think of.

The thing I hate about the quarterback position as I mentioned earlier is they either get all the blame or all the credit.... this TEAM is the winningest team. Brock doesn't go out there and throw for 600 yards and 8 TD's and make tackles. Neither does he go 5 for 23 with 4 picks. What he is a good collegiate quarterback playing on the most successful 4 year team maybe in program history.

Collin Newell is the winningest center in Iowa State history? Do we want him back? What about Vance? One of the winningest line backers ever? I'm being a tad facitious and yes I know I spelled that wrong but honestly I don't care about that right now....

EVERYONE on this team is the winningest player at their position in Iowa State history just about. The idea that he somehow single handedly is responsible for us winning is crap. The idea that he singlehandly is responsible for us losing is equally crap.

He's a good college quarterback whose benefited from the best collection of talent we maybe have ever had with the best overall coaching staff we maybe have ever had. If you put him on some of those early 1990's teams he ain't winning very many games.

We need to stop pretending he's Payton Manning when he isn't but we also should acknowledge him for what he is in terms of being a good collegiate quarterback, a great human being by all accounts, and a good teammate / leader. Doesn't make him the goat or make him horrible. He's been a big part of Iowa State winning games but so has Enyi. I know it won't happen and I know I'm guilty of it but how about we just enjoy the last two regular season games, and the bowl game and send off the collectively best team we might have had over a 4 year period, even if this season was disappointing? I know I'm critical and not always a fan of things but I'm sure gonna try to do just that....

and I also said no to him coming back because we just did that this year... where we brought everyone or close to everyone back. Sometimes staying longer than you should is just as bad as leaving too soon

It’ll be interesting. He doesn’t appear to be an NFL QB, he might be able to get a nice Chase Daniel type role. I could see him coming back, I could see him betting on himself and getting paid for 10+ years as a backup.

I hope he exceeds expectations and does well in the NFL as a starter, just not likely.

Backup NFL QB may be the best job in the world.

Brock has been the greatest QB we’ve ever had, and it’s also time to move on after this year. I think both things can be true.

If we can’t fix this O-line, it may be time to look for more mobility at the position.I worry for Dekkers next year.

I must be watching something else. I don’t know how NFL Draft and Brock Purdy are discussed together. Love Brock, been the best QB stat wise for ISU. Lots of high moments, but he’s not getting drafted.

Homers who think breaking ISUs horrible QB records think he's better than he is.

I do think he'll find a way on as a 3rd string somewhere for about 3-4 seasons.

Dekkers can run. He's deceptively fast. I saw him anchor his relay team in h.s.
