WHO TV led off its sportscast last night (Monday, Dec. 22) by saying that "...Hawkeye fans are upset because nobody is paying any attention to their bowl game...all focus is on the Cyclone coaching situation..." Too bad, so sad...

Niether team is ranked. There is not a good story to go along with the game. Therefore there is no reason to pay attention.
Maybe a couple more players can get in trouble with the law to get the program back in the news...
What? You mean the Iowa Hawkeyes and their horrible bowl game are not the center of the Universe? Usually they practically postpone Christmas until Iowa's bowl game is over around here. What's wrong?
I'll tell you.... their bowl matchup is awful! It ranks as one of the worst bowl games to watch this year. And it makes sense. Iowa is boring to watch.... and South Carolina is even worse. Plus the game starts at 10 am on New Years morning. I'll probably still be hungover and asleep. And no, I won't bother getting up to watch this piece of crap matchup.
It is fun though to watch Hawkeye nation melt down as they come to realize that nobody outside of a 150 mile radius around IC cares about them or their bowl game.

On another note, Marty and Miller has just reported that Iowa will accept a bid to the New Orleans Bowl, played last Sunday night.
Cause if Erin Kiernan says it, by God it must be true. Did you honestly expect the local media to talk about the game for the entire month of December? Chizik leaving town gave them something to talk about.

Hell, this story is the biggest sports story in Iowa ever, based on the amount of activity in the SoundOff phone/e-mail inboxes.
Is that a good thing? Well, some may think so (while laughing at Iowa) and other may point out the story is based on our coach deserting ISU without so much as a "thank you".
