JTS Improvements - Want More

Not really room anyway. Needs spots for all the giant trash cans overflowing with empty beer cans chugged on the walk up to the gate.
They should have buried some vacuum lines to empty those to a central location when everything was torn up. Could have been a self funded project.

Something doesn't seem right with those metal fences on the second level. Almost looks as though they're designed to have a panel inserted on the camera side. Because as is I have two words for them 'UG LY'.

Agreed, my first thought was wow, those are going to look horrible once they inevitably start rusting. Maybe they're yet-to-be wrapped with some sort of mesh material (ala the sides of the big screens)?

I can’t believe they wouldn’t be. Be an easy place to generate ad revenue, at minimum.

Does anyone know what our overall premium seating capacity is (club seating)? Not sure of the details on the North/Center/South Concourse suites... Looks like there are 43 total with between 16 - 32 seats each (not sure how many total, or how much they go for). I know the Sukup end zone capacity is 3000 and go for $999 each (almost $3M for tickets plus donations of another $125+ per seat; lowest donation level is $500, 4 tickets). Not sure how many tickets or pricing detail for the Jack Trice Club section... looks like at one point they were $1750 a ticket.. but not sure if they were all sold out...

Point being, a lot of revenue comes from premium seating... not sure if anyone knows if we sell out of our current premium seats (I know we sold out of our Sukup seating in 2019)... hope we can get the demand to expand our premium sections in the future... makes a huge difference in overall football ticket rev.

I hate to say it, but if we get “left out” there won’t be as much demand. Now if we get into the B1G and CMC stays, there will be plenty of reason and money to expand.

Got a few pics with the video ribbon over the entrance lit up - it’s gonna be sweet. During the day it really stands out. (More than I expected) At night, it’ll be fantastic!

The fence spans look to be just about the perfect size for an advertisement, hopefully that's what they end up doing. Some hard plastic panel like what they had in the stadium before they put in the ribbon board. All the material looks to be galvanized too, so that should hold rusting off for awhile.

I'm not shitting on the project team man. I'm just saying it looks short and asking questions
It's hard to say without something for scale. If that's a 6' construction fence, then I would think it's at least 14' of clearance. The picture makes it hard to tell though.

Look at the picture showing the front doors for the Jacobson building. The average door is some where around 6'8" tall. The bottom of the beam is at least double that height (so 13'4" minimum). Max legal truck height in Iowa is 13'6". We're good.

If nothing else, you can dump all the air out of the bags and let some air out of the tires (not that I've had to do that before with an idiot concrete truck driver).

As far as I know there has been a waiting list for the Jack Trice club for years.
I know the Sukup is sold out as well. That was announced, somewhere.
I have been told the Suites are sold out with a wait list. This is the only one I cant say for sure, but seems to be correct at least for the last couple seasons, last year being the exception.

All donor sections above century are more or less sold out with only a few single straggler seats available in a few sections. And century may now be as well.

If we come out of the realignment ok, and we continue this trend, we will need to add premium seating sooner than later more than likely. Too much uncertainty to say right now. But if we can land on our feet with realignment, get Pollard and Light district going, then a premium seat expansion will be in our near future I am sure.

So do we expect they are doing the same mulching and planting/landscaping in the borders around the grass as they did to the walk up to the SPC?

When I watched them put it down along the concourse, there was a skid loader just picking it up from a pile that had been pushed to the top of the hill next to the tunnel.

That’s why I’m moderately sure it’s just amended soil, and not finished.
I walked around the SPC last night and the NW and NE corners in the stadium. There’s about a 6-7 foot border of what appears to be rock with a light asphalt covering. It’s porous, so my guess is that those borders are intended to absorb water runoff from the concrete areas so the edge of the grass doesn’t become a swamp. There is a lot of concrete and you can imagine water pooling where it meets the grass

It isn't about the name....its about the advertising because of that name. It's a business expense in that everyone involved in ag in the state of Iowa knows the Albaugh name. Same with Sukup.

I however can't figure out what Mid American gets out of sponsoring the stadium. Most people don't get to choose their utility provider...you're just kind of stuck with whatever infrastructure is in your area.
As a regulated utility it’s in MidAmerican’s interest to promote local events, facilities, etc for good will. Makes it easier for the utility board to approve their rate increases. It’s not charity.

Been a customer of a handful of different power companies over the years. MidAmerican is the worst by far. Wish they would spend their money on improving themselves and quit lining W Buffett’s pockets. I would drop them in a second, but have no choice.
