Big-12 / Pac-12 possible merger

I like the idea of merging with the Pac 12. What would we call it? The Pac 20? The Western Conference?

The Big West seems like a no brainer
Yeah. I like that one too. Is there already a Big West? Or is that the West Coast? Big West sounds familiar.
Or The Pacific Conference. I find that aspirational and alluding to our western exploration past...
We already have the Big 10 with 14 and the Big 12 with 10(soon to be 8). I feel 20 teams would require a new name. For everyone's sanity.

You wonder if CBS really wants to get into the college football market or not. SEC is on CBS through 2023 and then they are done. They have CBS Sports Network and of course big CBS to play games on. If remaining 8 were combined with ACC or Pac 12 remnants CBS and Fox could combine to pay decent money to those schools for lots of content that could span all sorts of time zones. These schools need to get additional media to compete for rights otherwise the ESPN monopoly will be basically complete.
It seems unoriginal to me and if it's unoriginal it might as well be called the Pacific 20, which I honestly like.
Big West just seems like a combo of Mtn West and Big East, meh...
Start the scheduling process now and announce the new BigWest Conference will commence after we have fleeced OU, TX, and ESPN for every buck that we can.
