While its a stupid and bonehead thing to say im not so sure how far off he is right now. Lots of stuff flying around now saying both KU and ISU reached out to the Big Ten but they are not interested right now.

"Rumors and sources" are flying at this 100mph so take anything with a grain of salt.

But is that surprising? This is going to be a long dance and ISU isn't the hottest single girl & most guys haven't started drinking.

The Big10 needs to make it's BOLD move. Whether that is pursuing Pac12 elites like USC, UCLA, Oregon, etc. Or a path is opened for ACC schools/Notre Dame to join the Big10.

I think once the bold moves happen, then schools like ISU, OSU and KU fill in the gaps for the Big 10 & SEC. I am not convinced the SEC is done at 16.

This initial wave is chaotic with the OU/UT news. But the next round could be an above table discussion between P5 schools and ESPN/FOX on what college football looks like post 2025

I actually love their show. As a ups driver it kills alot of time and I rarely miss it. Trent is coming across as an arrogant ass on this subject though. It may be unlikely we end up in the big 10 but it's a bad look to basically laugh every time isu to the big 10 is mentioned. You might think this was the Walden Era isu football team. He doesn't hide the fact he is a hawkeye fan, nor should he, but a previous poster nailed it when he said isu being in this position is like porn to him.

Go over to the EIU boards and they are in heaven over there with the prospect that ISU will end up in the MAC, MW, or AAC. Its not going to happen, but they love just the thought of it.

I could see the Big 10 and the Pac 12 trying to form some type of scheduling for the nonconference games, if that happens then the CyShawk game would be finished. EIU is playing the 4 one year 5 the next home conference schedule like we were. The 4 year each school hosted the game between us, and that allowed each to schedule two creampuff home games to get to 7 home games. If this scheduling between the Pac 12 and Big 10 goes through, then EIU's conference schedule rotation stays the same, but the two cream puffs become a home and away with 2 Pac 12 teams. EIU would want to keep 7 home games a year, and thereby telling ISU we will play you, but only if the game is in Iowa City, and then not every year, because we need a cream puff every now and then to get wins.

I would guess ISU would tell them to go to hell, and the yearly game would end at that point.

He recently was trying to convince his audience that he can make an argument for the reigning Fiesta Bowl champions, who return a ton, to lose 10 games this year.

Iowa hasn't for a while, or for the foreseeable future have a non con out of State. I don't think they'd want to change that.
