Iowa Football Recruiting

Sure. Best of luck if you think Campbell is going to build a program that ends up where you guys think this is headed with a bunch of recruiting classes ranked in the 40’s and 50’s.

Where we THINK it is going to end up? You mean where all the prognosticators think it already is? You mean having already won a NY6 game? Welcome to 2021 Bodie, need to snap out of the Covid Coma your football team put you in last fall. What a buffoon.

As much as Iowa State fans hate to admit it, the Big XII has been down the last few seasons, too. It won’t stay that way forever, though. Iowa State really needs a big year here to take a jump with their recruiting moving forward if they want to consistently compete.

Why, why do that? We are competing. We have been competing the last 3 years and each year we have gotten more competitive. Please oh Lord High CFB Guru, please share your infinite wisdom with CMC and the program on how to compete. Don't hold it to yourself - you should be able to pull in a cool $70 Million over a few years since you can outthink CMC.

That is what I am saying. Is that good? you guys are fine with 7-5 type years.
Is 7-5 good? Lol no it’s not good in comparison to competing for titles. Do rebuilding years happen though? Yes. Stop trolling. After the great 3 season stretch in the early 2000’s, Iowa went 7-5, 6-7, and 6-6.

Iowa doesn't even compete for Big Ten West titles let alone actual conference titles

I totally agree with your point. I also think that's why its silly for people to think of 8-5 type seasons as a failure.
Well it depends on the context of the situation and team ya know? With the production coming back for ISU and how well they did last year, 8-5 would not be a good year in context for this year.

However, three years ago with Purdy coming in as a freshman and finishing 8-5, that’s a good year.

You had a guy on here saying ISU was a powerhouse and I am asking how they will sustain it.

When Bama wants you, you know you’re a special player.
You sure about that?
What’ll be funny is if Purdy flops and completely sucks this year.
Purdy is not clutch nor that good.

The best

Right now I would not trade Petras for Purdy.

Second best
Purdy sucks and CMC is beginning to follow in the same path as Rhoads.
Purdy has yet to prove he can step up and win on big stages.

Well the word powerhouse is entirely subjective. I wouldn’t classify us as a powerhouse though. We haven’t earned that yet and are going to have to consistently do what we did last year. Having one “down year” doesn’t mean you’re not a powerhouse though if you’re only talking about how we do two years from now.

To answer your second question on how we'll sustain success, that’s why why we have Matt Campbell. He took on the challenge of taking us from the bottom of the Big 12 to the top. Can he keep us there? We can only wait and see. I think he can.
