Not a bad interaction, but saw an Iowa fan at the Mizzou/ISU softball game today. Pretty much every away event I've went to has had a Hawkeye fan in attendance.

Does a trash talking 7 year old Squawkeye count? He was in a McDonald's and literally came up to me saying the Cyclones suck. (I was wearing a ISU coat)
He was wearing Hawkeye gloves and I said "Hey, those are neat...can I see them?" He gives them to me and I chucked them across the floor. My son jumps up and says "Dad! That wasn't very nice!" And went and picked them up for the boy. I just sat there and ate my sandwich like nothing happened. Probably wasn't very nice of me I know.
So a little kid said something, and you reacted by throwing his gloves? Yikes.

Depends upon the definition of "bad." I would say that I haven't really had any altercations with Iowa fans - so I answered "rare" in the poll. However, in my 53 years of life, probably 95% of my interactions with the typical ("adult") Hawk fan is one of arrogance. I am a teacher, and this even includes many students who are Hawk fans. There is absolutely no educated responses in regards to the successes of ISU's sports teams. Even last year's historic FB accomplishments are belittled. I can bring reality/facts into the equation (e.g. ISU's basketball conference and NCAA success over the past decade vs Iowa's - which HEAVILY favors ISU), and they usually ignore it - or, more often, change subjects. The biggest problem is that they are living in the 70s-80s Lute era & Fry's 80s-90s golden age - and their entire perspective of ISU sports is pre-McCarney ISU football.
If I redefined "bad" in the poll to mean "arrogance," my vote would be "Every week is a bad experience." By the way, I have lived in Iowa my whole life and in at least 8 different locations (many of those different locales were early in my career), and Hokfan seems to be pretty much universally arrogant no matter the location.

Yeah, it was meant to be a joke...I later found out the gloves weren't his but his 250lb dad's gloves. Probably lucky I didn't get my ass kicked.
Ran into the kid about a month later. He was sitting with a friend of mine and I joined them. He didn't recognize me at first. When I told him I was the guy who chucked his gloves...that's when I found out they were his dad's gloves. I bought his meal for him and it was a happy ending.

Is this satire? I want to think it is, but sadly I’m guessing this is a real anecdote.
No, it really happened. It was more lighthearted than mean spirited when I chucked them. I didn't chuck them in the garbage...or destroyed them. Just sorta tossed them away from where he was standing. I saw the kid about a month later and made amends by buying his happy meal for him

I’m over 50 and have lived in Eastern Iowa for 40 years and I’ve never had a BAD interaction. I’ve had a thousand annoying interactions but never anything physical or even close. I’m not a **** so that helps.

But they are so nice they do the iowa wave!?!? In all seriousness I got called a ******* cyclown at the state fair in high school by some “adult”. Set the tone lol.

Bohannon initiated a fight outside of DC's (bar downtown Iowa City) and got beat up. One on one fight that Bohannon started. Haven't gotten more details on why he picked a fight with someone

Any idea what happened to the thread?

Everyone in this video has horrible aim haha

Lots of friendly fire damage in that video. Pretty sure that a lot more Hok fans got hit with beer cans than the kid on the van who was the target. Maybe that was his plan. Get on a vehicle in the middle of Hokroach Nation and let them overthrow into each other. Nicely played.
