Hunter Reaffirms Commitment

Congratulations Tyrese for another huge honor! The more the merrier.

Unfortunately, the All-American game won't be played this year. Here's the entire 26-player roster.

Another Tryese's photo from the 2021 Iverson Classic with the one and only Allen Iverson.

LOL What is the story with the white dude with the sunglasses standing behind AI?

That seems good.
I was looking at 247’s Composites last week. In order to surpass Brackins as the #1 Cyclone recruit in the 247 era, Tyrese would have to surpass the ranking of the guy who was at #28 on their list then.

I suppose if ESPN gives him a huge bump, that could happen. No idea if they’ve done their “final” ranking. 247 locking their in-house rankings in when they did seems...premature.

especially with the only major prep showcase happening the following weekend... seemed a bit shortsighted to me too haha

Kind of like the Conditt Projection after his freshman year.

Murray has a higher ceiling, but yes. He's a great 4 year guy and is the best athlete on the Iowa roster. But he can't dribble, is only OK from 3 and is almost 21 years old. The NBA drafts on potential.. He's 4 months older than Talen Horton Tucker who's about to finish his 2nd NBA season. THT will be finishing the 3rd season and be done with his rookie contract before Murray played a game. That's how young they like to draft players

It's almost like the League routinely plays the slot machine in Las Vegas when it comes to young players and potential then? I guess the other option is to draft the more 'finished' players after 3-4 years of college ball or equivalent.

The reality is they do both. The temptation to draft the younger player with more upside is probably pretty high though.

I thought for sure there was some graphic of Conditt being a future 1st round pick after his freshman season. I am not sure where or who it came from.
There might have been some site that did that but Givony is usually pretty good. But like I said things change when games start getting played. Wigginton was a late first rounder as well based on his Freshman year. I do think if Murray shows improvement though that he can be a second rounder next year. Next year's draft isn't very deep and he could make a good bench 4 in the NBA.
