NBA: Jordan vs Lebron

Jordan was all defensive team like 6 times, with the highest vertical in NBA history. He could guard him.
He did not have the highest vertical in NBA history and he couldnt guard him. That's just ridiculous. You aren't guarding him with anyone under 6-8 regardless of how good of a defender they are.

Are you serious? Just Google highest vertical in NBA history. It's not hard.
It also says that was measured at UNC and articles everywhere say it was more like in the high 30s low 40s. There is no way his feet are getting higher off the ground than someone like Mugsy Bogues at 5-3 dunking.

You have to compare them based on their dominance in the era in which they played. The Steelers dynasty of the 1970s had an O-line that averaged 260 lbs. Of course a mediocre DL from today would steamroll them. People get bigger, stronger, faster as we evolve and with advances in nutrition, training, technology, etc. Jordan's Bulls went through Magic's Lakers, Barkley's Suns, Drexler's Blazers, Kemp/Payton's Sonics, Malone/Stockton's Jazz. Not to mention Detroit's Bad Boys to get there. Don't think you can knock the level of MJ's competition.

The player with the highest playoff and finals scoring average by a large margin happened to play in one of the lowest scoring eras.

The "era" thing actually makes it less close, not closer when that central fact is clear.

How many does Jordan have without Pippen and later Rodman? Pippen almost took the Bulls to the finals the year MJ sat out.
The bulls drafted Pippen. Jordan didn’t recruit a super team like Lebron did.

And even if Jordan would have recruited a super team he wouldn’t have followed them to Miami or Los Angeles, they would have come to him in Chicago. Lebron followed Wade to Miami, sorry but that was such a weak move.

Kareem just might be the goat and I am not a Kareem, Jordan, or LeBron fan.

LeBron, Kareem, Wilt and Karl Malone occupy that "total production lane" in that order. LeBron will probably stand completely alone in that category barring injury if he decides to play a few more years.

MJ is completely alone in terms of best clutch scorer important playoff and finals games. Nobody close.

In terms of "just win" you've got MJ and Bill Russel.

Some great names I didn't mention who are just outside of those various discussions are Magic, Bird, Hakeem, Stockton, Kobe, Jerry West, Dirk, Duncan, Moses Malone, Shaq, Robertson, Nash, Iverson, Miller, Durant, Steph Curry, Baylor, and Barkley.

Based on what? The Sonics won 64 games in a loaded West. That was the most talented team the Bulls faced in that entire run. Them or the Jazz team the 2nd time around.

Based on I watched the entire playoffs for that decade and that's the order of teams that actually stood a chance of beating prime MJ with a full season and a decent team.

There was no doubt the Bulls were going to beat Seattle (in Seattle's defense Portland and LA didn't have a chance either). The Jazz and Pacers created some concern. Hakeem those two championship seasons was as valuable as a post player has ever been on both ends, he was much more of a problem than anybody who has laced it up for a Seattle team. The Sonics were cute in comparison.

We live in the era of free agency. Jordan would never have stuck around if he would have been drafted by someone like Cleveland or Milwaukee. Even though the Bulls weren't a great franchise it was still Chicago.
