Old Mediocre Has-Been Desperate To Appear Relevant; aka JBo To Return

So hypothetically let's say JBo does move off the ball, Touissant takes over primary PG responsibilities, and it actually works well. If you are an Iowa fan, how pissed are you that Fran wouldn't do that when you had Garza and Frederick?

If he did that with Garza and Bohannon on the floor it was a defensive issue and he needed shooters with Garza in the middle. Made some sense to me.

He did that with Fredrick and then JBo and Fredrick split minutes as that would be the same position.

Would I be pissed? Not really. I now need to look forward to JBo attempting to guard someone again, that pisses me off the most lol.

I suppose. They were never going to be an elite defensive team, but they needed an actual PG. That was their primary glaring weakness. And whether Touissant or a transfer, Fran refused to move JBo off the ball.

I think that has to do a lot with the fact that he believes Connor is effective at the point guard position.

The thing with Bohannon is that he would have huge assist games and great shooting games, but he was inconsistent and very slow footed defensively.

Hell, I know somebody very close to the program that thinks it's bad for the team. That said, if his teammates want him back it's just a kid playing basketball to me. He better play well because I know of zero fans who are in favor. There are some, of course, just not people I know. People don't like the kid.
Do his teammates actually want him back though?

Patrick and Connor definitely do. Also I wouldn’t be surprised if the Murray twins see JBo as an idol considering they were freshman in high school when JBo first suited up in the black and gold and he’s from the same area.

The inconsistences certainly resulted from the team defense played against Iowa. Teams that packed in to primarily defend Garza with a double team opened up the perimeter for Jorbo to shot and pass. Teams that had a good post were able to push folks out to the perimeter, resulting in more pressure on Jorbo. I believe this is the primary challenge for Iowa this year. If they can reestablish some post presence...good season. If they can't, teams will push out on the shooters and Iowa will struggle.

Not a great on-ball defender either.
It’s also one thing to not be a good scorer. Connor is flat out ineffective on all levels of it. Bad 3 point shooter to the point that you let him shoot it. Zero pull up game. Can’t finish to save his life.
