We have like 4 scholarships open. Impossible to know how good ISU will be. Unless the island of misfit toys returns I have to lean Iowa next year.

I don't know if "fragile" is a the right word, I think some people are just more susceptible to injury than others.... just genetics.

But it's obvious that Nunge and CJ are both VERY susceptible to being injured. And once injured multiple times, you only become more vulnerable to it happening again, and you become a much less effective athlete. Just the facts.

How many games have Nunge and CJ missed over the last few years? A ton. You cannot count on them making it through next season, or even being as effective when they are able to play.
You disagree they’re fragile, but then describe them both as the textbook definition of it. :)

I just don’t see Weiskamp leaving unless he and his family are that desperate for money, which I don’t believe is the case. Joe is a 17-20 ppg scorer next year for the Hawkeyes if he stays.

I didn’t explain myself enough. I think ISU football wins 11-12 games, depending on how we do in the Big 12 Championship / Bowl game.

I think we win between 13-16 games in bball. That’s at / below .500.

I was also making a lame joke that football would be average with ~7 wins and bball would be less. It was early.

I think it's just semantics. I take the word "fragile" like they are soft, or aren't tough or something? Others may not take it that way.

It's obviously out of their control is all I'm saying.

But he'll also be another year older..... and for some dumb reason that means a LOT to NBA GM's.

@Expert you laughed at me saying “Iowa fans believe Jack is something he’s not.” Do you think that’s not true or do you think Iowa fans don’t think he’s that good? Because these stats are absolutely not good for a post that’s supposedly “good”.

PPG: 6.1
AST: 1.2
TO: 1.0
RPG: 3.8
3P%: 30%

Not to mention the guy can’t stay healthy. If you want to make an argument that Nunge would be good if he wouldn’t have gotten injured, fine but you’ll have to go to that Nunge’s alternate dimension to find him, because the one living in our reality is “meh”.

Iowa fans don't think he's something he isn't. They think he was a good off the bench piece and hope he can be decent in the starting lineup next season.

As I said before.. it’s all speculation. I actually admire you thinking Nunge’s going to be good next year considering he hasn’t done crap at Iowa.

I never said he would be good. All I was saying is I haven't read anywhere that he was considering hanging it up. And I have read your posts about Grill on the basketball board. Those are something to admire if you want to go down that road.

Haha what about Grill? That he could be a nice piece off the bench for us? He’s an okay shooter and could continue to get better?

I don’t think I’ve really said anything too crazy about Grill.

Grill has a way higher ceiling than Nunge.

Grill ain't that good. Neither is Nunge. Weird ass pissing match going on in here.

I only voted ISU because Iowa fans seem 99% sure Weiskamp is leaving for some other opportunity.

If he's back I'd say Iowa could be a bubble team. Without him neither are.

Starters next year for Iowa:
Connor
Patrick
Keegan Murray
Tony P
GT Post player

It's a coin toss if that team is better than a random last place p5 team.

I still think JW comes back and his understandable exploring of options is being taken to extremes by Iowa fans.
