The Fran fade

Bobo and Joe W. will have to be way off and Garza will have to have early foul trouble for this to be close.

I think both big 10 teams should win today.
I think Maryland loses though. It's certainly been disappointing for the Big 10 but that's what happens in single elimination. I think no matter what the media tells us there's really never a time that 1 conference is that far superior than the rest. One can be the best but it's strength was at least exaggerated to some degree.

I doubt Iowa loses, but I’m intrigued at the potential battle of the bigs. GCU’s Asbjorn Midtgaard is a load down low. 7’0” 270 who averages 14 and 10 a game.
Iowa couldn't lose today if they tried
Not saying Iowa will lose but watched a couple of Grand Canyon games on YouTube and I don’t think they’re too bad. They have two tall players one of whom led the country in fg%. One can hope. Midgard transferred from some larger school (I’m too lazy to do research) and he looks solid.

They really struggle to score

Which is why if it did happen.......dear lord popcorn all day.
We aren't that lucky as ISU fans. But good God would it be possibly the greatest sports moment of the year aside from our football team winning the Big 12 next Fall. If those two things occur this year, I will be happy about sports for a VERY long time.

I've felt the Big 10 all year has been pretty solid at the top but never saw the top to down love the media was serving. Big 12 seemed much better top to bottom.

However, Rutgers/Wisconsin helping prove me wrong.

The top to bottom argument is hurt by three really bad teams in the Big 12. The B1G doesn't have a team outside the top 100 of KenPom. The Big 12 has a team at #137, #149 and #173.

Metrics are great but this year they mean so much less with how little conference interplay there was. Most team non-cons were a couple tomato cans to kick and then straight into conference play, making it hard to build an accurate weighting of team performance. There wasn't many checks against initial assumptions.

Grand Canyon is outside the top 100 though! Easy win
