Iowa Football Recruiting

This guy's style is more of an up-tempo, gunslinger type. Do you think he wants to be in Iowa's pro-style, 3-step drop style of offense?
Iowa isn’t exactly a pro style offense anymore, but I know what you mean. They way he plays looks like a perfect fit for Penn State imo.

Since they aren’t under center 75% of the time anymore. Play multiple sets, 5 wide at times. Do they still play under center with one or two backs? Yeah, but it’s not the same offense as 5 years ago.
They are still considered pro-style though. No one is under center predominantly anymore, unless you run the triple option. Their passing game is extremely conservative too.

He also played Class 1A in Iowa. That’s why it’s hard to judge how truly good of a QB DeJean actually would be.
That's fair. Idk Hunter came in at times last year and looked solid. Who knows what he'll be like when he actually plays. Considering last year didn't count at all, and he won't play next year and could possibly even redshirt if he doesn't play in 4 games, he could be a RS FR his 3rd year.

You don’t actually think Kempt>Stanley though do you?
I have no idea if Kempt's phenomenal year was an anomaly or not, so it would not be fair for me to say he was better than Stanley. He was far more accurate and a better decision maker, but he also had Lazard and Hakeem Butler on his team that certainly made things easier.

1787 yds, 66%, 15 TD's, 3 INTs, 145.9 rating through 8 games. That's incredibly efficient. But Nate had 2 really good years his SO and JR season. His SR year is what a lot of people remember and he just wasn't that good.

Kempt was good but I think Stanley was better. Like you said, two NFL WRs helped Kempt and Iowa underutilizing Fant hurt Stanley. I think it’s fair to say that the defenses Stanley played were a little tougher too, while Kempt’s sample size of games wasn’t big enough imo.

Stanley had two top 20 picks lol
