The Fran fade

I didn't realize that Iowa winning against another ranked team, would have so many ISU fans triggered this morning.

They won't be ranked end of the season, but we realize you are looking for a marquise win, so hey, you do you.

Didn't realize so many hawk losers had nothing better to do than come on Cyclone message board, but I guess there's not a lot else to do in your mom's basement on a Friday when it's 10 degrees.

probably not. Being because we will probably have beaten them twice in their last 5 games. Gonzaga wouldn't be ranked #1 if we had beaten them also. That's how it works.

Wisconsin is an above average to good team this year. They haven't beaten a team in the top half of the Big 10 and they've lost a couple of questionable games they shouldn't have.

If Wisconsin ends up losing out and their record ends at 15-12, then yeah this win shouldn't be propped up that much. This victory over Wisconsin is much different than the "ranked victory" Iowa had when they beat Northwestern who has now lost 12 straight games though. Wisconsin is likely going to be a tournament team barring them dropping the rest of their games.

So two losses to Iowa makes Wisconsins entire season resume unworthy of the top 25? Okay...

I think he means that had Wisconsin beat Iowa, it'd be a loss to a ranked team. So beating Wisconsin and them dropping out due to them losing to Iowa doesn't mean it's not a ranked victory.

This is not a great Wisconsin team by any means. Michigan State is flat out not very good right now. That being said. Wins at those 2 places will always be considered big wins by fans in my age group. We just don't win there much. Wisconsin is decent but they are just really missing the one star player that really makes it all work for them.

And yet Iowa still managed to win a conference game on the road against a ranked opponent by 15 points.
Joe W's been on fire from 3 lately. Can he consistently shoot 3's at a high clip like he's been doing the last 3-4 games? If he can, Iowa will be a tough out. History suggests a regression to the mean is bound to happen. End of the day, just like so many Hoiball teams, Iowa lives and dies by the 3. If it's falling, they are tough and can hang with anyone no matter how bad their defense is. If it isn't falling, they can lose to teams that they should be better than (see Indiana 2x). Fortunately, they have 4 guys that can really light it up at any given time. Makes it rare to have overall poor shooting performances because if a couple guys are off target, maybe a couple of other guys aren't. That makes having a healthy Frederick so important for this team. Otherwise it's a lot of pressure on JW, Jorbo and Garza to be "on".

Pretty dumb to get so triggered over something like this. Connor played 9 mins in the 2nd half. He only played 3 mins in the 1st 14 mins of the 2nd half. That's not normal compared to the other 21 games they've played this year.
Going to need to see the minutes charts for the other 21 games.
