Iowa Football Recruiting

Iowa's schedule over the past 5 non pandemic years has been just as tough as ISU's. Actually the majority of SOS metrics say Iowa's schedule was tougher in 3 of the last 5 non pandemic years. This will continue, maybe ISU's schedule is tougher in 3 of the 5 years, but either way it will continue to be very similar schedules strengths.

I will say that if ISU is a legit top 3 team in the Big12, their schedule gets much easier. I mean over the past 5 years the top 3 Big12 teams have each only faced 11 ranked Big12 teams. Over the last 5 years Iowa has faced 14 ranked Big10 teams and that even includes pandemic years.
LOL, getting a good recruiting class is just a bonus for Iowa fans. Iowa fans certainly don't judge recruiting rating over actual results. From '13-now I'd guess we have an average recruiting ranking somewhere in the mid 40's but Iowa's winning % is top 11 of all P5 teams.
@CyTwins How can you disagree with this, those are facts. The Big12 top 3 teams have only faced 11 Big12 teams ranked in the final AP top 25 over the last 5 years. That is a fact, and that is a easy as **** conference schedule, we both know that.
Oladuken decommited, then recommeted, and then decommited, and then wanted to recommit, but Iowa passed.

I forgot about Bell, yeah we lost him to Wisconsin. The vast majority of your list is late offers for guys we were never going to get.
It is pretty easy. In '16, '17, '18, and '19 there were 3 Big 12 teams that finished ranked. That means if you are one of those ranked teams you played 2 ranked Big12 teams. In '20 there were 4 ranked Big12 teams, so they played 3 ranked Big12 teams in '20. 2+2+2+2+3 = 11.

Like I said "wash, rinse, and repeat." What do you do? Go back, cut, and past what you wrote last year as new material? You are beyond pathetic.

He can be a Frank Kaminsky type in the NBA. His ceiling is 10-15 min a game. That’s very possible.
I CAN be an NBA bench player too. All I need to do is find a team willing to pay for a 55+, slow, can't dribble, can't shoot, can't rebound short, overweight player.

I doubt he sticks in the NBA and if he does it is deep bench. Probably money ahead to just go to Euro and make bank while he is still mobile enough. Bigs tend to end careers earlier from leg/knee issues.

So now we go off of final rankings, not ranking at time of game? That means Iowa played (and lost) to one ranked team last year, 2019: 1-3 against ranked teams, 2018: 0-2 against ranked teams, 2017: 1-4 against ranked teams, 2016: 1-3 against ranked teams. Five year total: 3-13 against teams ranked in final AP poll (including bowl opponents).

Of course you go off final rankings. How stupid would it be to say that ISU lost to an unranked Sun Belt team? That would be pretty freaking stupid to pretend that ULL wasn’t a top 20 team last year.

Why are Iowa fans so accepting of a racist culture?

ISU played 3 ranked Big12 teams in the regular season this year. Every Big12 team that finished in the top 25 over the last 5 years has only faced 11 Big12 final ranked top 25 teams in the regular season. That is a crazy easy schedule to get to a CCG.

Oklahoma x 2
Texas
Oklahoma State

So playing Oklahoma twice doesn't affect SOS? Lol

ROFL, still running in circles I see. Do you ever run into yourself? First you say that a down year is expected because of COVID, now you jumping on the bandwagon that this was a great year.

I mean, I know you were trying to dis ISU but pointing at our recruiting class and you continue to ignore that fact that CMC has done so much more with less but good lord, stick to one story, get a backbone already.

Try reading, I said Iowa SHOULD HAVE had a down recruiting year with the pandemic, but they didn’t.

Iowa has done more with less much longer and better than CMC has. Iowa’s average recruiting rankings over the past 8 years is in the 40’s, but they have a top 11 winning % of all P5 teams. ISU has had 1 good year with recruiting rankings in the 40’s. Let’s see if CMC can sustain a 70% winning clip for 8 years.

Kaminsky is taller, way more versatile and more athletic

kaminski is actually a versatile big who can stretch the floor, and he’s not a complete athletic mismatch

luka will have a couple different choices after training camps this year. He can accept a possible 2 way, sign directly with the g league, or go overseas and get paid really well.

the only truly “unathletic” center in today’s nba is jokic. But he’s also a basketball genius with Larry bird work ethic.

What part of regular season don’t you get? It is much easy to get to a CCG in the Big12, facts is facts.
Math can be hard. In the Big12, you have to be better than 7 teams. In the Big Ten, you have to be better than 6 teams. In addition, in most years the best of the 7 is likely to be better with higher quality wins than the best of the 6.

Kaminsky and Jokic’s athleticism is in the same realm. And Luka can’t stretch the floor? He’s shooting better than Kaminsky ever did from 3 in college all while attempting more 3s.
