Iowa Football Recruiting

ISU will not win more games over the next 5 years, even getting a head start in '22, as they will win more next year than Iowa will.

Funny, I thought I said as many wins as Iowa over the next 5 years. Odd that a member of the fan base that loves to disect and manipulate numbers to the nth degree would miss that!

But since you went there - Over the next 5 years, ISU will have at least 1 more win than Iowa, and with recruiting classes 20 spots lower than Iowa and with a tougher schedule.

Yeah saying “blip” sounds a lot better than saying “year where the rankings were all over the place because basically every scouting camp was canceled”

LOL, if anything a pandemic should hurt a school like Iowa and ISU. I mean it certainly hurt ISU it seems dropping from their normal class in the 40's.

I understand your schedule plays a factor into this confidence but that's very optimistic by you

Iowa's schedule over the past 5 non pandemic years has been just as tough as ISU's. Actually the majority of SOS metrics say Iowa's schedule was tougher in 3 of the last 5 non pandemic years. This will continue, maybe ISU's schedule is tougher in 3 of the 5 years, but either way it will continue to be very similar schedules strengths.

I will say that if ISU is a legit top 3 team in the Big12, their schedule gets much easier. I mean over the past 5 years the top 3 Big12 teams have each only faced 11 ranked Big12 teams. Over the last 5 years Iowa has faced 14 ranked Big10 teams and that even includes pandemic years.

Yea, we are enduring terrible football times here. I guess the difference is, we don't measure the year on recruiting rankings.

LOL, getting a good recruiting class is just a bonus for Iowa fans. Iowa fans certainly don't judge recruiting rating over actual results. From '13-now I'd guess we have an average recruiting ranking somewhere in the mid 40's but Iowa's winning % is top 11 of all P5 teams.

@CyTwins How can you disagree with this, those are facts. The Big12 top 3 teams have only faced 11 Big12 teams ranked in the final AP top 25 over the last 5 years. That is a fact, and that is a easy as **** conference schedule, we both know that.

I'd like to see this backed up

It is pretty easy. In '16, '17, '18, and '19 there were 3 Big 12 teams that finished ranked. That means if you are one of those ranked teams you played 2 ranked Big12 teams. In '20 there were 4 ranked Big12 teams, so they played 3 ranked Big12 teams in '20. 2+2+2+2+3 = 11.

Iowa State played 4 ranked games vs Big 12 opponents this year

You should be grateful for the pandemic. Your racist program that you support with all your heart, and that retained the people that created the culture, got a free year from having to acknowledge it.

I too think Iowa will likely stay right where they have been since 2013. Winning on average 9 games (70% of their games).

I think ISU over the next 5 years will do right about what CMC has done over the last 5 years as well. They should win about 7/8 games a year on average (55%-60%) of their games.

I don't see either team really jumping extremely past their last 5 years history over the next 5 years.
This is so pathetic, so desperate to find a way to remain relevant. Clone fans can only hope Kirk sticks around 5 more years. If that happens your 9 win per season average will never happen.

As for your Iowa State prediction, what makes you think Campbell's initial season would in anyway be relevant when predicting his next 5?

I see you're busy moving goal posts again... never change Legend. Keep pursuing that mental gymnastics gold you seek!

ROFL, still running in circles I see. Do you ever run into yourself? First you say that a down year is expected because of COVID, now you jumping on the bandwagon that this was a great year.

I mean, I know you were trying to dis ISU but pointing at our recruiting class and you continue to ignore that fact that CMC has done so much more with less but good lord, stick to one story, get a backbone already.

Or is it more likely true that Iowa and ISU had normal recruiting classes and the rankings were just not as accurate due to lack of camp exposure the people who do the rankings usually get....

All I did was look up “Purdy” and “First round” and scrolled through pages of Clowns talking about Purdy boy being a first rounder. Too funny.
I did the same with Garza and got tons of articles all stating his best is mid 2nd round. At worst, undrafted. Here is a long, in-depth article that pegs his ceiling at NBA deep bench role player, his floor as Euro starter.

So now we go off of final rankings, not ranking at time of game? That means Iowa played (and lost) to one ranked team last year, 2019: 1-3 against ranked teams, 2018: 0-2 against ranked teams, 2017: 1-4 against ranked teams, 2016: 1-3 against ranked teams. Five year total: 3-13 against teams ranked in final AP poll (including bowl opponents).

He can be a Frank Kaminsky type in the NBA. His ceiling is 10-15 min a game. That’s very possible.
