Iowa Football Recruiting

My point exactly. For some reason, you just can't say the words even though the evidence (rankings, offers) are clear who has the better class.

I would take ISU's roster next year.

I'll say it, I have said it. Iowa has a better recruiting class. They do every year. Better than not just Iowa State but often better than the Northwestern's and Purdues of the B1G.

And what do they do with these 'hauls'?

8.5 and 3.5 record, 2nd place in B1G West and ho hum bowl.

Now that I have said it, can we answer the ******* question that the title of this thread is focused on:

How effective is Iowa's recruiting? If they get better classes than other programs, why don't they get better results?

Or will hok fan just be happy with a "ESPN Top 25 Recruiting Class Trophy"?

Six of Iowa State’s December signing enrolled in January. This doesn’t give a bump to class rating, but adds to the value of a class by shortening the time frame for contributing. Anyone know how Iowa’s class compares? About the same or better or not as good?

Can't be right - @Legend Hawk says that ISU's mirage is going to fade as CMC has less time to develop players. I am not sure why he will have less time but it is obvious CMC has peaked and just happened to catch lightening in a bottle this year.

I think that there are players within our class that are going to end up being better than players in Iowa's class, which is why I wouldn't blindly choose Iowa's.

The question isn't if every single player in the Iowa class will be better than the players in the ISU class.

The question is what program had the better overall 2021 class?

Why is this so hard?

Um, I never said any of this, you need to stop projecting.

Ok, translate this for me then from your reply to my post:

I love your optimism, but ISU isn't going to be in the Big12 CCG more years than they aren't. ISU had the exact same team last year and he won 7 games. It takes time to develop guys, when you just aren't rolling out top 20 recruiting classes all the time. Kolar, Purdy, Hall, all the weapons were in Ames in '19, but the OL wasn't there, that is what happens you have have to develop players it takes a Foster 5 years just to be decent for example.

To be honest, I can't tell what you are saying here but it sure seems to me you are saying CMC can't sustain his success because he will need more time to develop players? You seem to say we have to patient as the OL develops and that may fall off before it becomes better? If not, what are you saying here?

Iowa has the better overall class according to ESPN and other rating services, so what? What does that translate to.

I don't expect you to answer, cowards don't like to address the real question.

9-4 average over the last several seasons, there is not many teams in the nation that can claim that.

Wisconsin has been the class of the division, there is no way around that one.

Outback, Rose and the Holiday are not "ho hum" bowl games. I would consider them in the tier below the NY6 games along with bowls like the Citrus and Alamo.

So this years recruiting class secured your record over the last 10 years?

Iowa did based of rankings, but they also did in years past and we’re better than them currently. Let’s see on the field, all this is mere speculation.

What? That post was in response to this post of yours. You were asking what Iowa did with classes that are routinely better than ISU's classes.

Eh, I think hok fan knows that the biggest accomplishment of this year will be a Top 25 Recruiting Class. Kind of surprised at that but based on the passion with which they are defending it, seems obvious.

I agree ISU was better this past season and has the better roster heading into the 2021 season.
Good, look at their recruiting rankings the past 5 years then look at Iowa’s rankings. Rankings aren’t everything, but hell of a class you guys put together.
