Garza got double teamed early in last nights game and Connor was right there in the paint to take the pass from him and get an easy and 1. I was thinking oh, man Iowa can wreak havoc on doing that over and over. Then I didn't see it happen again. He really never went back into that position.I
Yes we have shared same thoughts on bohannons minutes. We're a little different as far as Connor's. I will say i don't like what I'm seeing from him lately. Early in year he was moving ball more quickly whereas now its sticking and he's almost trying to play a 2 man game with Garza but he's not a consistent threat. Defensively he hasn't been as good either he was always ok but he's overhelping and not playing as physical on the ball.
I'm not saying his entire game is awful. I'm saying he's a very big liability offensively from a scoring / shooting perspective. Yes, the things you mentioned above are his strengths, I'm simply saying that if he were not playing for his father he would not see the minutes he has his entire Iowa career.I'm not taking up for McFran Jr specifically, but in general, collegiate players can earn major mins doing only one thing very well: 3-pt shooter, rebounder; defensive stopper.......I'm not sure what Jr does well: maybe assists ?
He can feed the post like no one else.I'm not taking up for McFran Jr specifically, but in general, collegiate players can earn major mins doing only one thing very well: 3-pt shooter, rebounder; defensive stopper.......I'm not sure what Jr does well: maybe assists ?
If Jorbo wasn't a 5th year senior and Connie wasn't the coaches child, neither would get big time minutes. Jorbo would be a situational/instant offense type player off the bench for most P5/6 programs, think 8-12 mpg, and I don't think Connie would play at all for any.Assists probably. I'm not sure how much a back to back POTY candidate helps that though.
He's a career 35% shooter.
Jordan is a career 39% shooter, almost zero threat inside 20', and a really bad defender.
Both of them get too many minutes TBH.
He does some nice things but if his last name wasn't the same as the HC he would not see the minutes he does.
It's like he has forgotten what his role is. Feed the post! I need to see this elite post-entry feedingConnor having 7 shots in 19 min might be the funniest thing I've seen in a while

He's pretty awful in generalHe was pretty awful last night.
Heard Fran showed up to work with a black eye this morning. A spectator noticed Connor sat quite a bit.He was pretty awful last night.
Do I really need to explain why that's a horrible comparison?Nixon averaged 10 shots per game last season for ISU so define a while.

He's on the court because of his daddythat isn’t why he is on the court.

Please quote me where I said he played too much last night. Fran obviously made a good decision in benching him.
