Iowa Football Recruiting

The how should we compare them then? Should we compare the Big12 to the Big10? Of course not, you will cry saying that the Big10 East is good and the Big10 West is trash.
I have no issues comparing total conference to total conference. And why would I cry the big10 east is good? That is a fact. Luckily Iowa rarely has to play more than one of the top tier teams (let alone away from home) from that division each year if at all. If Iowa played in the east heir winning % would be brutal.

I believe Iowa's program is fading, stand by it 100%. I don't care if you agree with that or not.

There is data to prove, and you agree, that at best, Iowa has been flatline performance the last 8 years.

There might be data ( I don't put as much stock into recruiting rankings as hok fan does) that shows that ISU has outperformed Iowa considering recruiting ranking the last 3+ years.

Therefore I am comfortable saying that ISU's trendline is better than Iowa's (fading or not) and that gap will increase as ISU starts to perform better compared to Iowa in recruiting.

Please tell me how that argument does not align with this thread and how it is not supported by some facts, certainly better than Jr. Cyclone Propensity Ranking

LOL, at least you can drop the whole "flat line" that you came up with when in reality you always knew you were saying Iowa was fading, and have admitted to that and reverted back to that.

If you would stick with the flatline, at least you can make a case. Iowa has "flatlined" at the 70% winning mark for the past 8 years pretty much. That means Iowa has been the 10th best P5 team over that time, are you arguing that "flatlining" is a "bad thing"?

As far as trajectory, ISU's trajectory increase dramatically from '15-'17, but what do you see for '17, '18 and '19? It is the same thing Iowa faces once your winning % is higher and you've had more success. It appears as a "flatline" that you are trying to claim is some bad thing.

2015: 51%
2016: 56%
2017: 63%
2018: 63%
2019: 64%

Just to verify, we are leaving '20 out because of? Stick a 75% on there and it looks a lot different, I would not make the argument without '20 but I guess asterisk and all.

Listen, lets agree, you like where Iowa is heading, I like where Iowa is heading, I like where ISU is heading, not sure your stand there but I think I know.

And a NY6 win and a top 10 final ranking. We've been beaten over the head by you guys with KF's top 10 finishes and "January bowls". There were quite a few I remember saying "When ISU plays in an actual meaningful bowl game or does anything nationally relevant, let me know". Well, we just did. Look, ISU fans don't need validation from iowa fans for this past season, but efforts to diminish it seem petty on your end.

From '15-'19 Iowa played 9 Big10 East teams that were ranked in the top 25 in the final AP poll with 6 of those 9 teams being top 10 teams. Iowa faced 6 teams that were unranked from the Big10 East.

Keep pretending Iowa doesn't face top Big10 East teams.

All the data I provided included 2020, your 75% is included in all those numbers.

Lets say 1 year is a trendline just to help you out. ISU is at 75%, and Iowa's 1 year trend line is also 75%.

Iowa's 2 year trendline is 76% and ISU's is 64%

Listen if you just wanna say you think Iowa is gonna suck in a couple years and ISU is gonna be awesome, then just say that. To say Iowa has been or is fading just isn't factually correct.

Good call. ISU wanted him at TE but he wanted to play DE. ISU lands him if they offer him at both. Dumb move by CMC

So it's a dumb move by CMC to tell the recruit the truth? So says the devotees of Coach KirKKK lined up to tell him to keep lying. Because higher ranked recruiting classes matter more than winning. full-image.php.jpg

Where is 2020 in these numbers?

2016: 56%
2017: 63%
2018: 63%
2019: 64%

Isn't 9-3 75%? Don't need to answer, I don't think I can handle another data gymnastics move.

And please stop the drama queen routine with my quotes. I never said Iowa was going to suck and I never said ISU was going to be awesome, so I won't say that now. I will say what I have said since the beginning of our discussion. I think Iowa is entering or in a period where they will trend down, fade if you want and ISU will continue its upward climb. If that plays out, what might look like two programs on the same level now will look quite a bit different 1 year and 2 years from now. And I went on to say, it will be interesting to see if Iowa takes action to address this.
