Whew! KC wins. Will Mahomes be able to play? That is the question. I will agree w/ others; it did not look like a concussion, rather some kind of neck strain/stretch. Will they call it a concussion?

If they do call it a concussion, will Mahomes be out next week?

Not necessarily. You could have an initial lack of oxygen/blood flow, or a neck strain that could conceivably cause dizziness/loss of balance after that hit. It did not look like a typical concussion where the head hits turf/opposing helmet hard.

He did not get the wind knocked out of him and it’s not like a choke hold was put on him, so I’m not seeing how he could have been deprived of O2. His whole body was drove into him as his head made contact with the ground which is a high probability concussion hit.

If you watch the replay, his head never hit the ground. The hit was in the shoulder area and the neck, not his head. Which like I said, never hit the ground at all.

Yes, reporters also said he was done during the game due to a concussion.

In the replay you posted you can see his head go down and bounce up right before they show the ground, when you factor in where his helmet is and the bounce height, I believe his head hit.

I will leave it as we disagree since it doesn’t matter what we think. He was placed in the concussion protocol and all that matters is if he gets released or not.

In my own personal canon, in the Progressive thanksgiving commercial where Baker is cooking dinner in the concession stand, Joel Lanning is sitting in the next room at the head of the family table.
