Iowa Football Recruiting

far better? not sure. Pretty close with Northwestern. So you're saying "we got killed by Louisiana-Lafayette but we'd have crushed the Hawks if we had played them" ?
I mean, this exact question is going to be answered this coming season will it not? Almost the entire team for isu is coming back. Not sure what Iowa is losing

Well Iowa is better than all 3 of those teams, at least we can agree on that.
All trolling aside I think Iowa had a high floor because they play good defense but had a low ceiling because of Brian and Petras. They did a good job of only losing to one bad team but nothing they did makes me believe they could beat a good team if that makes sense

Not really. If Hoks want to be taken more seriously, they need to play a respectable schedule (ranked teams, occasionally). Then we all might know where they are at. Feasting on crap teams every year only sprouts a gaudy win loss record. It doesn't prove any toughness.

Fair enough, and surprisingly reasonable from you. I don't think this was a high ceiling Iowa team either, #16 is pretty spot on for what they were.

Pretty crappy troll job there.

ISU wasn't a lot better than Iowa. I feel they were pretty close actually and give a slight edge to ISU for playing more games and beating better opponents than Iowa did. I think the actual game would have been really close.

Weird you think Iowa is close to Iowa State but at the same time think Iowa State is two touchdowns better than the #6 team in the country.
I really think if it is a normal game, ISU wins by double digits. But it is one game and weird things could happen like what happened in the ULL game to keep Oklahoma closer or even the W.

ISU -34
OK - 20

Yeah I agree with that, I know there is a lot of animosity but I do concede Iowa has had good results under Kirk, primarily due to very good defensive and offensive line play. And most Hawk fans, well unless they are here talking about the superiority of the Hawks program, will agree the combination of Petras and Brian as OC will prevent them from being great. Their defense will keep them in games, but unless Petras gets better or Kirk replaces him it will be tough for them to do much different than this year, which isn't bad, its good, just tough to be great. Petras is no pass/run threat, the dude is ssssllllloooooowwww of foot. And it you have Brian having him throw a lot, I don't remember exactly but didn't they throw the ball like 50+ times in a game this year? With that offensive line and decent running backs I don't understand that. Anyway I am biased but very excited about the Clones next year, you never know but I have to think their ceiling is considerably higher than the Hawks. We shall see, and so then not sure if you Hawk fans are aware of it, but they do have several forums dedicated to your own team?!
