Purdy had a higher QBR than Rattler.

He is a version of Brett Favre. Makes plays not many can but will also force throws. His ability to extnd plays kept us in the game. Something Petras just cannot do

Every game is important. That's why I said "2 biggest games". You cannot deny Saturday's game was the biggest game of Purdy's career. It was an opportunity to win a conference championship and those don't come along very often. The 2 best defenses he played last year were not Big 12 teams and he didn't fair particularly well.
Texas was his second biggest game on black Friday

You mean, wait, that it is harder to move the ball against a good defense than a bad defense? OMG, no wonder teams score less against better defenses!

Would have been lost without you.

And ISU wouldn't have had a chance if he didn't make some incredible plays with his legs and some incredible throws.

ISU loses that game 45-3 with Petras at QB. Maybe only 3-4 QBs in the country that could have played any better than Purdy did.

So I don't get your point ,which is rather comforting. Were Purdy's numbers bad against OU because he played poorly or because he played a stellar defense?

Was Petras' 44 QBR against Purdue because of Purdue's stellar defense?
ISU would have won if not for 3 ints.

Quit comparing Purdy to Petras. You are the only one making that comparison. You have no idea how different qbs would have played in that game.

ISU would have lost if Purdy hadn't completed some other passes and made a number of big plays with his legs.

you can go on all day

They could have won with better kick coverage, better blocking, not missing an easy interception, not missing a field goal, not getting the play that caused the interception in from the sideline late, not losing defensive stud on first series.

You are the one that came on here and pinned it Purdy. I am saying there were bigger issues than Purdy and gave one example of a QB that would have done worse. I can give give 30 other QBs from P5 schools as examples if you like.

Quit coming to our site and telling us how to evaluate our football team.

And that would be your opinion. 3 interceptions in a conference championship game is devastating. Not many teams (if any) win big games like that when their qb throws 3 picks.

Wasn't this the "biggest game" in B1G this season from one of the "best" QBs in College Football and an upcoming 1st Rd. pick?

The L to OU wasn't only on Purdy's shoulders and agree with others - he's a big reason the Cyclones were still in the game (beyond the obvious defensive effort). Could Purdy have performed better? Sure. Do you have any idea what was rolling through Purdy's mind on that last play or any of the other's throughout the game? Didn't think so.

Squawk off bumble-parrot.

This is a good comparison Fields and Purdy both pooped themselves in the CCG. OSU is just so much more talented and used their running game to win, ISU didn’t have the talent to do that.

Why are you bringing up what he did last year when the calendar reads 2020?

Well ISU played a top 10 blueblood team. OSU played a team that lost to Rocky Lombardi. It is a shame we didn’t have that luxury.
