I'm sure they'll like TJ too.
Agree Xavier looks as good as advertised. He has brought energy and results when he has been on the court. Lack of a full preseason and his injury have really impacted a guy like him. You can see he occasionally is unsure out there as far as his assignment goes, (like who is supposed to inbound the ball) which he admitted in one of the pressers and is to be expected when learning a new scheme. That's not bad. Harris off the bench as a shooter and a spark. I think Xavier needs to get a lot of minutes this year. Take his lumps and develop.
How about we start finding guys who want to win at the college level instead of using it as a stepping stone to the next level? The current recruiting pitch sure has done us wonders by bringing in toxic egos into the locker room, and is a big reason why we aren't winning. He wants to make it to the NBA! Prohm has shown he can get guards to the NBA even if his teams struggle overall to get wins.
Doesn't Fred have any more kids coming of age?I think an Iowa kid or two in this next class would help tremendously. Certainly increase morale. When are our legacy recruits coming to save us?
I hope you aren't saying Tyrese Haliburton had a toxic ego? He is exactly the personality we should be targeting. How about we start finding guys who want to win at the college level instead of using it as a stepping stone to the next level? No, Tyrese was a rare sense of sanity out of the guys Steve has recruited. Guy genuinely loved his time at Iowa State. I honestly don't think anyone currently on the team, aside from the walk-ons, even know the fight song.I hope you aren't saying Tyrese Haliburton had a toxic ego? He is exactly the personality we should be targeting.
what toxic egos are on this team?
There been a reason why players were fighting each other two seasons ago, and had two key players almost walk away from the program at semester last season. Lot of "me first" kind of attitudes on the team, and one of those guys is still on the roster this season.what toxic egos are on this team?

Yes, yes, and no.Think it’s more of the toxic egos that aren’t here that have put us in this situation.... Horton-Tucker, Lard and Wigginton.
Okay I wouldn't go as far as saying toxic, as on the same level as Lard, but it was there, and it didn't help the team.I never heard Horton-Tucker having a toxic ego while he was here

It's a different sport but I think the point still remains.
One season during 2 a days Coach Mac brought in a speaker. The speaker started out by having us on the team raise our hands if we wanted to play in the NFL. Out of 105 guys only like 15 raised their hands. The speaker turned to Coach Mac and said "Well the reason your results suck is because you have a bunch of guys who don't aspire to be the best and further their FB career". That has always stuck with me and I believe it to be true. If you have a bunch of guys who don't want to get to the next level they aren't going to work as hard as they need to in order to be great.
This team is missing someone with an ego, who don't take **** from anyone and will push his teammates.
Did you raise your hand?
I definitely agree where you're coming from, and that is a very good point. Issue is, I have just seen a lot of "me first" attitudes come through the program in the last couple years, and I know that's contributing to the team not winning. It's a different sport but I think the point still remains.

pretty much any high level team is gonna have a level of fighting to some degree within it. and again, you didn’t answer my question. what toxic egos are on this team? There been a reason why players were fighting each other two seasons ago, and had two key players almost walk away from the program at semester last season. Lot of "me first" kind of attitudes on the team, and one of those guys is still on the roster this season.
only one that was toxic was Lard. the only way THT and Wigginton have put us in this situation is by not staying longer.Think it’s more of the toxic egos that aren’t here that have put us in this situation.... Horton-Tucker, Lard and Wigginton.
