Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

Probably. Once IA switched to zone that was the killer. It wasnt even a heavy in your face zone it was that ISU was that bad against it.

I couldn't believe how inept ISU was vs the zone. I mean they didn't even get Iowa on the offensive boards like everyone else does when we go zone.

Bohannon is almost unplayable at this point. He's never been able to defend but when he can't shoot he needs to take a seat

Harris completely negated JorBo all night.... he couldn't do a thing. 1-7 for 3 pts last night, and is a total liability defensively.

And last year in Hilton, JorBo shot 2-12.... and left his shoes on the court. Who does that? Sucks all night, and leaves their shoes on the court... really? What a dooooosh.

Iowa is a really good team. Garza is amazing, but I especially like CJ Fredrick..... I'd love to have Fredrick at ISU.... and there's nothing not to like about Wieskamp.... good player and easily the most likable kid on that roster.

But JorBo, Connor, and Patrick.... you can have 'em. Can't stand them.

Yeah, but as I've been told countless time he sucks because nobody wanted him out of high school and he redshirted.

He doesn't act like a d-bag like JorBo and Connor.... but he's fiery and plays with energy.... and is a very good player IMO.
But as we saw last night.... Iowa minus Garza is pretty average. ISU played toe to toe with them with Garza on the bench, and ISU is not good.

You want walk-on that redshirted? Heard that is blasphemy around here.

You guys were also told a multi time player of the year candidate shouldn't start for any power school in the Country.

Ummmm....... yeah....... really. With 4 mins left until halftime.... Iowa led by 2 pts. Garza sat most of that time. So with Garza out in that first half.... it was basically even.

And in the 2nd half at one point Garza scored 21 straight pts for Iowa I think it was? So yes.... Iowa minus Garza is fairly average I'm afraid. Deny it if you want, but it's the truth.

ISU shot 44% from the field, 41% from three and 80% from the FT line and lost by 28 points. That is crazy.

I know.... not a bad team at all huh? Those are good numbers. Too bad they also had 17 turnovers, and can't play a lick of defense.

I think Iowa beats ISU by 10-15 points without Garza, but ISU would have had a punchers chance to win. With Garza they had zero chance.

If ISU had Tre Jackson and Hinson.... and Iowa was without Garza.... it would have been a dogfight right down to the end.
I know that's a lot of "what ifs".... which is why Iowa won by almost 30. Iowa did have Garza.... and ISU didn't have Tre or Hinson.

When is ISU getting those guys back?

When is ISU getting those guys back?

Tre Jackson was supposed to be a couple weeks I think? It was announced on Sep 18th that Hinson would be out this season with a medical condition not related to Covid. He averaged 10.1 pts and 4.6 rebs per game for Ole Miss last year.

So you are saying if you take away the Player of the Year in college basketball their team isn't as good?

I mean obviously that is the case, but to say Iowa is "average" without him, you don't know that. Now CJ and Joe shoot a lot more. Now Nunge would be playing 30 Min a game and can be a threat himself.

The team would obviously not be nearly as good without Garza, but they would still be night and day better than ISU and more than likely a NCAA team with a core of Jordan, CJ, Joe and Nunge.
