*** Official NBA draft thread ***

Everyone cheering he didn't go to organization X or Y realizes he's losing more money than you make in a year every pick he falls, right?

Unless of course you're pocketing a half mil a year. Then nevermind.
Yeah, it turns out that if you want to be a high draft pick, you are generally going to a bad team.

Dropping to the Pelicans or Celtics would be pretty sweet in terms of landing spot for a team. Not great for the contract.

Also want him to go to an organization who may know what the heck they are doing, so he can be put in positions to succeed and REALLY get paid down the road. He's still going to be making life-changing money regardless.

Was hoping he would have gone before the Knicks, as that franchise is a mess. But would have taken it had he gone to NY because that would have been a great fit for him to prove himself. Knicks doing Knicks things.

Sure. But winning helps and could help for future contracts

NBA is not about the rookie deal. Lottery is mostly comparable contracts. NBA is all about going to a team you can be successful at and earning a second or third big money deal. The teams he just avoided do not provide him much of a chance at long term success.
