****OFFICIAL 2020 MINNESOTA TWINS THREAD****

I live a block from Target Field and just can't get myself to invest in the Twins because it's all heartbreak in the postseason. This is 17 straight postseason losses...SEVENTEEN. That is a streak that is...truly stunning. And pathetic.

I would love to know the odds of losing 17 straight postseason games. 17 straight regular season would be one thing...but the odds of losing 17 in the postseason has to be incredible.

Pretty unreal

Unreal. Unfortunately, not surprised at all. For some reason this franchise just feels like it has to lose playoff games.

Knew after they failed to score in the 1st inning they were in trouble. Same issue last year in the playoffs. 1 for 1000 with RISP. Hits = Runs = wins.

Better get their heads out of their asses tomorrow or they are gonna get swept by a team with a losing record and the most hated team in sports.

No - Rocco's Excel file says keep trotting these Rob Deer wannabes out there and hope they get lucky and hit 5 solo HRs. It says to take Maeda out at 90 pitches. It says that despite being absolutely hopeless at the plate this year that he should pinch hit Garver.

I liked how the bracket set up, and thought they had a decent shot to get to the ALCS. But I didn't really have expectations beyond that. At some point in the playoffs your position players might have to do something besides hit a solo HR or two. At some point you might have to go against your plan and ride your hot starter an extra inning or two. You might have to get two out of Rogers.

They don't typically make many errors, but at some point the law of averages catches up to you and when one team is playing actual baseball and puts the ball in play occasionally.

This was pathetic and yet entirely predictable. You could tell by the box score which one of these teams has a clue about managing and winning playoff games.

A friend of mine said the odds were only like 1 in 131,000. I find that very hard to believe. But I also have no idea how to figure that out.

I'm trying to get myself positive for tomorrow. Thinking well they threw their two best starters by far and we should be able to get the next two but man.... I just cant get excited. We are screwed.

Ump continues to be horrible behind the plate.

Why is Garver even on the roster, let alone pinch hitting in this game? He just needs to call it a season and try to figure it out for next year. As great as he was last year he is completely hopeless at the plate right now. At some point Rocco might want to trust what he's seen this year and accept that Garver is pretty much an automatic K right now.......

Agree, Rocco using Garver as a PH today was a head scratcher. Thought the bigger mistake was pulling Maeda. He's the best pitcher on the staff, throwing a SO, and you take the ball from him.

I’d say in addition pulling Rogers after 1 inning was a potential mistake, though if pitching 2 would make him unavailable in game 2 then I guess it’s alright.

You just can’t manage a playoff game like it’s just another regular season game. Rocco managed it like it was game 61 in a 162 game season.

They still have a shot to win two straight, but I don’t have a lot of hope.

And Buxton isn't even on the lineup card today. What a ****show.

Agree. Whether it's a RHP or a lefty, Buxton has to be in the game.
We'll see if the Twins are sent home packing today. If they do make it to the next round, not sure how much damage they can do because they can't hit quality lefties. It's been their downfall all year.

These umps are so fing wishy washy. Astros players can talk all they want and Rosario says something under his breath and gets tossed.

Wonder if anyone remembered to tell the Twins that these games count, that it's an elimination deal?

Where is the goddam motherfucking sense of urgency? Donaldson was right, this team has no balls.

Buxton in as a pinch runner. Bet he gets thrown out stealing.

I don't see the logic in taking out your best hitter before the 9th inning, either......

I think I'm out on this team even if they find a way to pull it out today. It's almost time to go back to the drawing board. The bomba or bust approach is played out. Time to invest in smart baseball players and good lively arms.
